My dad just told me he invited my grandmother over for dinner. yiippee (not). He said she wants to know how come I haven't written her. I saw her like a lil over a month ago. And I already wrote her a letter I just hadn't mailed it yet.
So with everything else I got going on, now I gotta stress about my grandma coming over to b***h about how I neglect her and bla bla bla (my brother never writes, visits or calls but she doesn't nag him)
I'm pretty sure I never told her about my rats. I know she will flip out. So I'm trying to clean and bathe them today so she can't say they're dirty and smelly etc.
I use to be really close with my grandma, but I guess I grew up and realized she's a racist, close-minded, know-it all. She freaks out at me spending money on my animals. She says racist comments about my ex and pit bulls. She's just generally insane and I feel like I have nothing to talk about with her. I also found out recently that my dad (who I always knew had been shipped off to boarding school) only met his dad when he was 12 cause my grandma tried to pretend for the longest time he didn't have a dad, and then wouldn't tell him who his dad was cause she thought he was better off that way. My dad met his father somewhat by chance when he was 12 and moved in with him and lived with his own father for all of 4yrs until his dad committed suicide. eek
I know this is all horrible to say cause she's my grandmother and I love her despite all that and I know Ill feel terrible for not spending more time with her when she passes. But I can't help but stress out massively about her coming.

I wouldnt call my granny racist...She just never believe in whites marrying colors or one color marrying another race but their own. She had nothing against them she just didnt like mix children *where Im from if you are mixed you get beat up the whole time you are in school*
And with the dogs and rats I know the feeling but its not from Granny its from my stepdad. He thinks all Pits, Rots, Chows, Dobies, and any dog that has a bad rep are evil. ;~; He even wants to muzzle my baby Taison because he has alot of chow in his blood *he acts like a chow just to protect me and my mom*. My dog can sense evil and that man is pure evil. D= So now he said that if I get a pit and bring it to his house he will shoot it. He even threaten to shoot Taison if he bites him. >.<
My mom is slowly getting over the rat thing. I actually showed her proof that rats are clean critters and she actually pet one. C=
*RIP my granny. Died in Jan. 25, 2000 *

its no secret of what i think of my grandmother. she is a racist old woman and copletley misinformed on nearly everything yet insists she is always right. and she hates all my pets and keeps telling me places to meet a man for when im ready for my second husband. luckily my fiance has a great sense of humor so when i told him about the next husband bit he just found it funny.
the worst bit is that he hates my best friend because she isnt white like the rest of us. according to my grandmother i need to start haging out with my own kind.
the only reason i feel any loyalty to this woman is because she was the woman who gave birth to my mother

Well my grandma lives with me. She is the typical mean old racist annoying southern lady. She's constantly bitching and she makes my mom take her places. >_> She once yelled the "n word" across Wal-Mart and thought that it was ok. And you should see her when she watches the news, my Lord the things that woman says. Oh yeah she is a Bible beater and preaches every day, she will also tell you about how you will go to Hell. And every time we cook she gets all bitchy and says that what we cook isn't good enough because it's going to make you fat. rolleyes

That sounds exactly like my grandparents. And they live with me gonk but not for long. Soon they'll be moving in with their princess (my mums sister. My mums never gotten on with my grandfather) Although I must say even though they complain about my pets at first, I often see them giving them treats and talking to them. I also hate how my grandfather acuses me of being mean to the dogs. Like when I make them do a trick for a treat of their food. He thinks it's mean and gets upset with me. Then he expects me to find it humoring when he tells me about how when he was a boy he and his friends tied string to little birds legs, and when they flew off their leg would be pulled out. But it was alllll ok because they were pests. And they're incredible racist. My granma got home from the shops one day freaking out "Kate you can't go walking around anymore. I don't care if you want to walk the dogs" "Why?" "I saw an asian man" "and....?" "he's probably dangerous"
I also used to be close to my grandparents. Then I realized they were racist and small minded, and got sick of my grandfather bitching about every little thing my mum does behind her back. And I realized it was pretty much all his fault my mother had such a rough teenage hood. Oh and the thing he says when he watches tv, particularly news (he watches 3 news programs nightly). And he hates british people. He seems to forget how his beloved Australian culture came to be. Must be the generation?

He thinks its ok because they were pests. He could of killed it humanely but no. And then he seemed supprised that I, the biggest animal lover in the family, didn't laugh. He got angry at me. Then we had a big argument...

My grandmother is like that too, she thinks that dogs are dirty animals and just pets and doesn't consider them part of the family but more like... just a thing you own to keep you busy and not lonely and pend minimal money on. So I do see her talking to him and giving him a cookie, but she would never actually offer money if say he needed an emergency operation. And last night, he handed her his frisbee, and she picked it up with a disgusting look on her face cause it was dirty, cowboy then "went long" and waited on the grass for her to throw it for like 10 minutes but she just shoved it under her chair and asked me if he'd come back if she didn't throw it.
She's more interested in my cat. She thinks it's cute how he waits for me to get home. And she's like Rascal, rascal, rascal, hey, come here! and rascal is all like wtf do u want with me woman and walks away lol.
