Spring was gone and summer was quickly following. The heat of the day fading into the cool of night, days were slowly growing shorter and the colors would soon be changing. Beneath a Cypress tree lay a pale cream colored fae who was enjoying the breeze that ruffled her fur and the grass around her. She began to groom her fur and hum softly to herself.

It seemed like time had stood still for a moment as a young almost willow colored male yawned and stretched his legs. His dark ears shifted and flicked as he uprighted himself and slowly made his way to the edge of his small territory. He was alone most days, but he'd worked hard to find his own plot to call his own and he was not giving it up for anything.
Waving his tail back and forth he made his rounds, just lingering a few feet out of his radius as he scouted for 'intruders' or in the least a good meal.

The sounds of foot fall brought the cream colored coyote to her feet and she made her way silently and quickly to where the male was and crouching low to the ground she followed him. She waited for a few moments before leaping at him from the shadows and tackling him from the side, trying to find purchase to pin him even though he was much bigger than the small female.

All seemed well to Lor as he flicked his ears and turned to head back, though thats as far as he got.
Before the smell carried to his nose, or the sounds to his ears, he was knocked over. It wasnt a big thing luckily, but he turned and snarled, fighting back. There was NO way he was letting this get away.

She was dislodged and rolled and when he turned and snarled there she lay, tail tucked to her prone stomach, paws pulled in and her ears flat against her skull. She looked up at him with wide eyes and her nostrils flared as she took in his scent. She rolled over and skittered a few feet away quickly. She was still crouched, ready to bolt or defend herself if need arise.

Lor's eyes sought out the scoundrel who attacked him as he whipped around to face-- a fae. He immediately stopped dead in his tracks, looking her over as he slowly let his muzzle fall from a snarl. Was she insane?
He tilted his head to one side a bit, but quickly straightened it out before he approached her. He made sure to look as big and tough as he could, not wanting to give the wrong impression on this foolish girl. "What brings a lone fae like you out into these parts of the woods... are you looking for someone?"
