___A bell chimed softly, the pink hue ringing a sweet tune that seemed almost to smell of flowers. The soft sound rolled across the wide hills to touch the ears of people nearby delicately with a faint vibration. Again it rang, caressed by the wind flowing through the old temple. Seemingly forgotten, the bell almost cried out for attention as it rang for a third time, making a vocal impression upon the nature within a radius.
___With the final tone, the shaking and gyrating of the air appeared to be materializing, a small female with dark hair and magenta eyes falling from within the small item. It seemed almost like an un-natural depth was inside of the minute bell. She landed roughly on the old marble floors, shaking and examining her new world with wide eyes. Looking up at what had been her safe haven for so long, the bell shook before exploding into shards and fading away.
___Your name is Jin-Ho.

___Jin-Ho wiggled her small frame, gently maneuvering herself into a comfortable position against a decaying marble pillar. Rocks lay strewn across the groud, and the cold interior of the abandoned Grecian temple felt increasingly forboding.
___She crossed her legs, looking down at her own soft little hands. Jin-Ho smiled delicately to herself. I'm not good outside of myself. She let out a soft giggle, and listened to it briefly echo along the ceiling. The satyr looked up and folded her hands in her lap. The mosaic is so pretty ... Even if it is faded.
___A yellowed piece of paper fluttered slightly across the floor like a leaf. It scooted slowly, seemingly being playfully tugged on a string by the wind. Scratched and weathered, the marble floor seemed to radiate with those odd swirls. On quiet days, Jin-Ho would try to make pictures out of them, like some people do with clouds. She traced a finger on the lines slowly. Pretty ...

((The rest!))
___Jin-Ho chewed gently on her thumb, bored after rolling around in the grass. Her first social experience hadn't been as bad as she'd anticipated. Though, she felt somewhat alone in this odd new world. She missed certain things about being a bell. Security, not really being able to get hurt ... Not having to eat ... The thought crossed her mind as her stomach rumbled fiercely.
___She wiggled her toes mindlessly, picking a small flower and sucking the necter out of the center. Most of her clothes had been discarded and folded carefully under a tree. The small shift allowed for more comfort when lying on the cool ground and feeling the warm sun.
___The Satyr wondered quietly to herself why she was there. What was the point exactly? Yes to continue the species but what else? There was a new world around her much different from her ancestors. What was she to do? Lie in the grass and chatter all day? Live where life took her? Yes, that was a thought, but having something to look forward to every day wasn't such a bad idea either. Something like a goal to accomplish perhaps?
___A larger question posed to her was, would she even be allowed into the outside world. Would she be accepted? There were no scrolls or decaying books for her to decipher about the world now, only the world then. Was her altered interest in scholastic learning simply a thing to be lost forever?
___She didn't know, she didn't know if she should find out. The clouds seemed to have another idea of how to deal with this however, moving lazily along and lulling her wandering eyes to sleep.

The Village: Sat Jan 21, 2006 4:48 pmUennie ___Jin-Ho frowned slightly and folded her arms inside of her sleeves. Not too long ago she had suddenly exploded into life from a patterned bell. Going through abandoned temples had become a hobby of hers, gathering up scrolls and books. The Written Word had become her latest fascination, and she took great pride in the care she kept her possessions. ___Now, the Satyr was faced with a new challenge, which was far harder than teaching herself how to read, from her point of view. Social life, Satyrs had a natural knack for it. Descended from Dionyses and Pan, it was only obvious that their general disposition would be bright and gay. She found herself at a loss when pouring over her books. It all seemed so long ago. ___Reaching up, she nervously smoothed her hair and felt the tips of her horns. She counted quietly to herself, One, Two, Three! However, she always flinched and waited. Jin-Ho knew she had to make an appearance eventually. The little girl folded her hands inside her sleeves again. She counted slowly, and on three pinched her other hand and scared herself enough to step out and face the other Satyrs. Her face burned as she blushed and cast her eyes downward, wishing she had one of her books to hide away from the world. Irenylie "yes i think ill be... but if more people start screaming here like you i will probably get into the mood of hurting someone!" Rija laughed and mocked herself a bit while she said it. This boys excitement was rather sticking on... ((dunno if this is the right expression lol babelfish sucks :S )) just at that moment another Satyr suddenly stood next to them, Rija didnt even noticed her because her senses were too distracted by Seigi. The other Satyr was a girl, her clothes were just as odd as Seigi's and her hair was black light the night. Rija started to wonder if actually she was the one who was odd dressed and the clothes of the other two were normal... with a little more confidence than she had before she spoke up to the girl; "hello, i'am Rija and this is...." she had to think for a second before she remembered; "...Seigi! we have just met so... nice to meet you too, what is your name?"((no time for proper caps! *runs off*)) Uennie ___The shy Satyr offered Rija a little smile and looked up. The clothes of the Satyrisci standing in front of her were such a pretty colour. Her honeyed hair was so long and free, it made Jin-Ho envious since she always kept her hair tied up in a tight bun. Jin-Ho's smile got a little braver as she looked into Rija's burgundy eyes. ___"My name is Jin-Ho. It means Jewel Lake in Korean." Whispered the Hibiscus Satyr gently. She nodded to Seigi and acknowledged his attire, similar to hers. Jin-Ho wondered briefly if he came from the same type of Bell she did. Remembering her manners, she unfolded her hands and gently took Rija's hand in hers and clasped it. ___"It is very nice to meet you." Agent Sinistra Seigi grinned when she nodded at him. It was "Oh! So Cute~!" according to him. If it wasn't for the fact that he was afraid that he'd both scare and smother her, he would have given her a giagantic hug. In fact, it seemed like both girls were rather fragile.
"It's nice to meet you~!" He crowed out with glee, and then sheepishly apologized when he realized that he might be a bit too loud for Rija. "Ah... Sorry... I forgot..."
It was hard for him to control himself. Meeting new people was fun, and so far all of them were cute and nice. And all in need of hugs, as far as he was concerned.

___Her fingers touched her horns gently, curving her hand around their shape. The tinge of blue reminded her of a bright day when the clouds mixed into the colour of the sky. Leaning over, she admired them in the reflection of a pool of water. They were almost the only thing she allowed herself to be vain about. She folded her hands neatly in her lap and looked down at her robes, spread in ripples around her kneeling body. The embroidered flowers in her skirts seemed to bloom up at her, questioning what she was doing. Why aren't you out with the others? They chimed, and in frustration the little Satyr began to pick at the threads. Stubby, childish fingers rubbed the embroidery, wanting their chimerical voices to simply be quiet.
___She gazed up at the statue towering above her. The marble was old, everywhere in this forgotten place nature had taken its course. Leaves scattered, plants bloomed in cracks, and animals nested inside. Ancient, haunting, and peaceful. Jin-Ho had heard of a Prometheus ritual, which would enable her to grow up. Part of her wanted that, the other part, was scared, and felt that if she did the ritual she'd only be one step closer to the inevitablility of death. This was a trial, a choice she had to make. Would she grow up, or remain physically a child for the rest of her life. Would it be so bad? To have the age of an older Satyr and the knowledge, but the body of innocence? No one could touch her, or hurt her. She could be happy, and no one would question her odd habits. Everything would stay the same.

___Jin-Ho walked slowly along the halls of the marble temple. She tilted her head, listening to the small slaps the rain made upon the smooth surfaces. The tiny drop exploding upon the head of the statue, before taking a journey along the curved paths other miniature waterfalls had already carved into the worn face. Rain pooled in the dirt outside, and animals seeking shelter threw up a curtain of water as they raced through. She sank to her knees, a far off memory conjuring laughing and voices.
___A child shrieked as it ran through the rain, and an admonishing mother chastised and coaxed the little boy back inside. A whirlwind of leaves blew past, the people inside paid it no mind as they conversed over the pounding and kneading of sticky, powerdery substance. More people dashed in, she could almost hear them smiling in the back of her mind. A tinning sound echoed, small pieces of metal gently clashing together. The mother waved her hand quickly and the audience fell silent, listening closely to the sporadic melody being emanated.
___The rain continued to fall, and Jin-Ho felt uncomfortable. She felt as though she was intruding, and that suddenly she could feel them watching her watch them through her mind's eye. Frustrated, Jin-Ho left the image quickly, and returned to her solitude.

___Should I grow up. Do I want to. Why, why can't I just stay the same? This bounced back and forth in Jin-Ho's mind. She had grown lonely, the other Satyr's had their human companions, why was she alone? Why, why did she have to be alone? The realistic side of her told her that she was not alone, and to stop whining and go make some friends. Jin-Ho bit her little thumb and stood up, slowly walking along the sides of the abandoned courtyard. Making house in a long-dead temple is lonely and scary business. She wondered if she'd ever find somewhere bright and happy, and not cold and full of stone statues that never move, nor smile.
___She swung her hands behind her back and looked down at the long rectangular reflecting pool. I want to be unique. More special than anyone else. I just want to be different. She thought, her mirror image looked up at her and thought back, But you are. She shook her head at herself, No I'm not. I want a different style and flow. I want to be more than the typical. Her liquid doppleganger shook her head and faded away into the ripples. Jin-Ho sighed and turned her attention to the sky, until she heard a loud bang and the sound of items hitting the floor. ___"This can't be. So soon?" The Satyr heard an odd voice cry out behind her. She turned around to analyze the taller, hornless woman. ___"Who are you!" Jin-Ho cried out, moving further away and to the other side of the pool. "Why are you in my home?" ___"Well ..." The person seemed helpless. "It's my fault you're here. I had to leave and take care of quite a few things." She bent down and began to pick up several books and scrolls. "I hid the Bell here, I didn't think you'd materialize so soon ..." ___"I've been here for months, all alone. Why, do you know me?" ___"Jin-Ho, I left that name here for you before I left. I'm really very sorry." The woman continued to be preoccupied with what she was doing. The little girl wrinkled her face and stomped her foot. ___"I don't believe you! And I won't!" She walked away, her little robes flying around her and the sound of her hooves hitting the ground angrily.

___Uenoh'ai smiled gently and pursued the little Satyr. Jin-Ho fled into her beloved temple, and hid among the ruins, convinced the woman would never ever find her. She covered her mouth, trying to smother the sound of her breathing. The footsteps following her stopped, and the pale-skinned child began to slowly crawl out of her hiding place. Where had she gone? Had she gone away? Jin-Ho felt proud of herself, for being able to take care of the problem. Her reflection caught in a tarnished mirror and it shook its head at her. But weren't you just so sad because you were alone? Now you've probably chased off the only person who wanted to be around you. Her eyes welled up in frustration, she was so lonely, but she had just pushed someone away. Why did she do that? The little girl squatted on the floor and hugged her knees, and she began to cry softly. ___"Please don't cry ... I didn't mean to upset you." A soft voice came out of nowhere and a gentle touch began to gently stroke her hair. Jin-Ho felt comforted, was this what it was like to have a mother? "Shhh ... It's alright. I'm so sorry I left you alone for so long." Arms wrapped around the child and brought her into a warm hug. Suddenly feeling very small, and very young, Jin-Ho threw herself into this strange woman crying with little abandon.
___"I was alone for so-so-so-so long!" She wailed, while this strange woman showered her with comforting caresses and soft coos. Jin-Ho felt her nose leak, and whimpered. Her face was all wet, inside and out. How unbecoming. She felt a cloth being pressed to her face, wiping up the mess and making her clean again. The handkerchief disappeared into the pocket of the great white coat the woman was wearing, and the woman smiled. ___"I am Uenoh'ai, your caretaker."
