The news in the Philippines is currently in focus of a hostage-taking of some Chinese netionals, was a hostage-taking anyway until the person decided to kill all of them. It started 8 am here, until now which is 8 pm here. The hostage-taker was a policeman with some psychotic thinking somehow, he also took people hostage last 2007. The fight is still going on while the police try getting to the bus the hostage-taker is in.

Laughing can be heard right now, sometimes though. Not sure though, if it really is the hostage-taker.

It's hard to watch. I know the whole world is laughing at us right now. It's pathetic how the police have taken the situation. I don't want to say this but they are incompetent. sad

Yes, and now people will laugh at me for the misinformation. I heard it wrong because I was oblivious of what was really going on. In truth it was his brother who was arrested that "7" o'clock and the ex-policeman was fired last 2009 for an extortion case filed against him last 2008.

Yes, the police force did look like idiots. Mainly cause the general public in the rest of the world was wondering why the didn't just snipe the guy when he was standing at the door releasing a hostage, rather than smashing in through the windows and getting people killed.
Nobody is laughing, they are just wondering why the hell with so badly (all they needed to do was tell him he'd get his job back, have his release the hostages and then shoot him or arrest him).

Shooting him was more unjustly if they did that. It just shows how wrong the world is.

It's possible to shoot someone and incapacitate them without killing them; and even if they did kill him in the process, it could be argued it's worth it if it saved the hostages.
That said, I can understand why they'd be reluctant to do that, but still. i don't know all the details, but from what I've read, the police could've made some much smarter choices.
