It had been a while since Jing Lin had time away from his work to get out and about with his son. Aside from a few errands which pertained to said work he'd been shut away inside of his house working on his next masterpiece. The white haired boy couldn't really fault him for such a thing, in fact he'd helped as much as he could by learning to do simple tasks like preparing tea and simple meals for his father. He couldn't do anything amazing yet like what he'd seen happening in the kitchens of the place that Qiu Shui worked though, a bit of a pain as that was what he wished that he could do. If he could make meals like that he would surely be better equipped for pleasing his father which seemed to be the thing that Bai Mei most wanted to do at this stage in life.

On top of Jing Lin though he was most certain that his friends would be able to benefit from him having such a skill as well. He found himself for a moment day dreaming about being able to make such wonderful food for Song Tzue and Yoru as well, he felt as though it had always been a dream of his to be able to meet up with them, to share a meal, and just enjoy their closeness. It was a strange dreams since he'd only just met them but it felt deeply ingrained in who and what he was. So caught up with his daydreams was he that he hadn't realized that Jing Lin had stopped until he ran into his father's back drawing a little squeak from the boy, "Ow... huh?" He looked up at him and then passed him, finding his eyes going wide as a strange group walked by that caused his body to shiver from head to toe. There was just something about the way they moved that bothered him deep down, they seemed... dangerous.

"Don't look to hard at them, we don't want that groups attention on us." Jing Lin said, he'd run across them before, had been commissioned by their leader on a couple of occasions even. He would rather not draw the man's attention while his son was with him, he didn't put it passed the man to try to make a trade for Bai Mei were he to fall under the category of what the man saw as beautiful. It bothered him to no end to have such riffraff in town, allowed to go where they pleased, when they pleased.

Once the group had passed by and the two of them had gone unnoticed they continued once more along on their way. They were heading out of town today, away from all of the bothersome people, away from the silly rumors that swirled around his family, and happily away from that gang of miscreants that roamed the streets. It wouldn't be long before they were outside of town where the air seemed fresher, the world seemed more open, and things seemed so much easier.

Ping was smiling as he sat on a light blue blanket playing with the apples that he had brought with him. Sunny his mother could only smile as she unpacked the basket she brought with her. She could not understand why of all things Ping could have a fascination with he had one with apples. Yes his name meant apple but ever since he had laid eyes on the red orbs he just could not seem to have enough of them.
Sunny looked around it was beautiful afternoon not that England had not been beautiful also it was just that she needed to get away from the rumors and lies that were going around about her family. It was said that she a mad scientist who would kill any one who displeased her. It was just a stupid rumor and any one who had gotten to know her would have realized none of it was true. And just because a few of her enemy had died horrific deaths had nothing to do with her being a scientist.
So she had moved to this small village in china to get away from the fuss. No one here knew about her past and so she was safe.
Ping looked up at his mother it was nice that she had come out side once and a while. In his opinion she stayed to long in her laboratory but she always seemed happy there and he could help her in there passing her tools and try to put strange devices together. As he smiled to him self one of his precous apples started to roll down the small hill that Sunny had placed there blanket on top of. "Apple?" Ping got up and started to run after his apple. "Apple come back here." He called out as he mistakenly ran head long into Jing Lin.

Jing Lin gave a gasping sound, landing on his backside with an 'omph' sound and his glasses landed on his lap leaving the artist basically blind except at very close distances until he patted around for them. When he was without them he looked more like the fox that people were sure that he was due to his eyes ending up closed to slits, making them take on a 'fox eyed' appearance.

As the man patted around for his glasses Bai Mei took a step forward to scoop them up, putting them in his father's hand, "Here you go." He said, ever the dutiful son before he turned to look at the one that had tackled his father, head cocking to one side. This new boy... where had he seen him before? He had to wrack his memories to recall it but after what seemed like an eternity it click. The Dragon Boat Festival, hadn't he seen him there while he was playing the egg balancing game!

Bai Mei clapped his hands together in delight as he recalled where he had seen this boy before and instantly he was trying to remember his name. It was... was... ah-ha!

"Isn't your name Ping?" He asked of the other boy in a curious and very hopeful manner, really hoping that he had guessed right as he would be so embarrassed if he were wrong.

Ping had fallen down when he hit Jing Lin and he was slowly getting back up when he realized that he had ran in to someone. He quickly got up and walked over to Jing Lin he was worried about the familiar man and boy. "Are you ok? I am really sorry about running into you there was an apple and it was rolling and I had to save it I was not watching were I was going and I mistakenly ran into you." Ping explained quickly before he stopped to catch his breath. "I know you?"
Sunny had seen what had happened and had ran down the hill to make sure everyone was alright. "Jing Lin are you ok?" he really did look like a fox when he had his glasses off she thought as she put out her hand. "what brings you out here?"

Ping then remembered who the other boy was and why he looked familiar. "Yep my name is Ping and you Bai Mei we were balancing eggs on there ends. You did a lot better than I did."

Jing Lin replaced his glasses on his face, blinking a couple times before he gave a smile, "I am quite alright." He said in a reassuring manner, "A little fall never killed anyone." He said as he looked from side to side to see if he could spot the apple that the boy had been chasing. Once he spotted it the man stooped down to scoop it up before he looked it over, wiping the piece of fruit clean with the sleep of his robe before presenting it to Ping. While there were many people who worried about him, what he was, he was a rather sweet man... he just wasn't to versed with social situations.

Bai Mei smiled at the boy when he remembered not only name but from where they had last met, "I was just lucky is all." He said, then again that was the whole point of that game, wasn't it? To balance the eggs and gain a blessing of luck. It was something that the yellow eyed boy had really desired since his lucky hadn't exactly been the best at the time. He felt as though it had gotten better since then.

He turned to look over at Sunny for a long moment before he found himself taking a step closer toward her, eyes wide with interest. She looked a lot different then the people that he was used to dealing with and as such he couldn't help but to stare a little bit. That was until Jing Lin reached out to give him a slight nudge in the shoulder, seeming to remind him that starring was rude and given how often the two of them were starred at that he should know better.

The boy blinked a couple times, "Ah! Sorry." He said again, bowing before Sunny again a couple times, not having meant to do to her what the villagers did to Jing Lin and himself all the time.

Ping stood there embarrassed about the whole mess and was surprised when Jing Lin smiled and scooped up the renegade apple wiped the red orb clean and presented it to him. Ping stared at Jing Lin as he took the Apple and Quickly bowed. "Thank you so much." he said to Jing Lin and then to the apple. "Look what trouble you caused."

Standing up strait so he could talk to Bai Mei he smiled. "You have a nice Dad Bai Mei you know that. I guess you got lots of good luck. I have been lucky well sort of lucky." He looked away at Sunny who was with Jing Ling. Looking back at Bai Mei. "Anyway, look at today we were lucky to have run in to you two. You want to join our picnic we have lots of food and apples."

Sunny had met Jing Ling before and she knew he was a good father so it did not surprise her when he treated Pings apple with such care. She had walked over to talk to Jing ling "Thank you for being so understanding and nice to Ping." She felt a chill up her back some one was watching her she tensed up scared. Looking around there seemed to be no one else around at the moment but the four of them. She then noticed that Bai Mei was closer and staring at her.

Sunny relaxed she was used to people staring at her when ever she was out in the town people stared. She could not blame them she was different because she was European no not just European she was British. When Jing Ling nudged the boy on the shoulder Sunny smiled as he bowed. "It is ok I am used to this happening. I do stick out in a crowd."

Ping giggled. "Come on Bai Mei lets get some food." Ping started up the small hill to the picnic blanket were the rest of his apples sat there waiting for him.

"Please join us, we packed to much food." Sunny said

Jing Lin bowed his head in a polite manner, giving him a smile as he the boy took the apple from his hand and set to scolding it in a cute manner. He shook his head before he turned to look over at Sunny when she spoke to him, "Of course, it is quite alright." He murmured, after all he had a child of his own and was quite used to dealing with them. Not to mention the friends of his son that he had met before now.

Bai Mei looked over at Ping and he couldn't help but to smile and nod, "Yes, my Father is wonderful!" He said, pleased to find that there was someone who understood who wonderful the man was. Due to the rumors it was so hard to find people would would believe such a thing of Jing Lin and anytime someone spoke well of him Bai Mei couldn't help but to love them for it, "Oh, a picnic? Are you sure? We would hate to intrude..." He looked from Ping over to Sunny and his Father, to see what they thought of it.

Jing Lin looked at Bai Mei then to Sunny as well, when she said that it was alright the yellow eyed boy instantly turned and hurried after Ping, following him up the hill in an excited manner, "Thank you." He murmured, to Sunny, seeming quite happy to see such a look on the face of his son.
