My first trade was at Otakon a few years ago. I didn't know the handshake at the time, and the girl's friends just kept walking without her, so we kind of tossed our bracelets to each other. I keep it on the strap of my convention bag. I actually haven't done all that many trades so far, though.
I tried to do my first snail-mail trade over Gaia about a year ago, but it didn't work out. We were going to do 3D cuffs for each other; I did hers, but she said she was having trouble with mine and needed to start over. I offered to go ahead and mail it out, but she wanted to wait, and then I never heard from her again.

My first trade was over snail mail- I have yet to see another kandi kid in this part of the world, so I trade overseas. It was with someone I met at kanditrade.net. It was a small trade, but oh boy was I excited to see that package come in the mail!
My first handshake trade was on June 7, the same day I arrived in the States. I stayed at a hostel in Vegas for EDC and quite a few of the people staying there were going, and I traded with a girl staying there. The single she gave me says "Shuffle for life" 3nodding
