To the Muslims out there, I want to know this. This is NOT a debate. It's a discussion. I want to know, which hadith are more accurate then others, and why? How can one tell?

This is a good question. There are a lot of people who dont followt the Hadith, they only follow the Qur'an. Following Hadith is a big deal, since things like stoning are mentioned in the Hadith, not Qur'an.

I am unsure how much of it I trust myself. A lot of Hadith, i enjoy and agree with. But then the ones that contain stuff like stoning, that is TOTALLY not in sync with Islam...If God wanted us to stone people to death, wouldnt he of put it in the Qur'an?

If Muhammad DID order people to be stoned, would it have been from Allah? Then surely, it would have a place in the Qur'an.

See my dilemma? I would never base my life off Hadiths, but I do enjoy a lot of them because they show the kindness of the prophet that he was known for.

Bukhair and Al-Muslim are the 2 most "accredited" Hadiths. Many people dont even read past those 2.

I think the Hadith can be nice to read, but it shouldn't be treated as infallible as the Quran often is. Like you said, there are certain phrases in the Hadith which condone stoning as punishment, even though there's nothing like that in the Quran. So, I'd say that any Hadiths that aren't supported by the Quran or which flat out contradict the Quran probably shouldn't be taken seriously.
