We probably could. I can rant for hours on my own about various things; I can only imagine teaming up to rant. You can message me if you would like.
While I probably will never write a romance novel (except to mock the genre in-general), I do use the varying standards of beauty to make a point about my monster society, and how humans are not perfect little aspirations to become or to bring into the fold. That is one thing I dislike about a lot of fantasy:
Humans are Special.
Well...my monsters, at least, do not think so. A lot actually get annoyed with them, and even turned humans take some getting used to.
Honestly? Do not worry too much about it. If there is a point to your vampires being there, even if the role is small, leave them in. If their characteristics are not important, they are not important, and if you get ideas to use them in another story, you have the base set up. If not, it is nor going to hurt your story.
