Ghibu was home, how they had made it home she wasn't completely sure but it was Chapua who had found signs of the pride. He generally spent half a day every day flying ahead and looking to see what can be found before coming back to Ghibu, discussing their routes and so on. It was by chance that he had seen possibly one of the guards. It had been a lion with a bird. Of course it had been a guess as he hadn't gone in any closer and he had just seen the one.
An argument had followed Chapua's return but they had little to loose in heading in that direction, they had found nothing of her parents or brother or even the pride. It was just how it had all ended up.
"Chapua, can you smell that?" Ghibu had stopped walking and lifted her head up. The scent of lions had hit her, not one but many. There was a pride here and it looked familiar, the scents were too. Was it possible?
Chapua had ignored Ghibu's response as he generally did and took to the air. He had been riding on her back to get some rest but felt the need to fly up and explore the surrounding area. It didn't take long before he returned.
"I can't see a guard near here though we seem to be heading in the right direction. I am sure we will come across someone soon." Chapua chirped to his bonded hoping that this was indeed their home. It looked so familiar but there was always the chance that another pride had found their land after the earthquake.

Umoja yawned, letting his chest release a soft roar as he finished. Uggh, sleepless nights weren't occurring, but it sure did feel like it. Mfalme was resting on his shoulder, wondering what the hell it was keeping his lion-bonded from sleeping soundly at night. Probably his new relationship with Lamkana. Lions, bah!
Umoja's eyes noticed soft movement up ahead, and the mumblings of chatter. Someone was up there; would he know who it was? He continued on, ignoring the soft grumblings of Mfalme about how he was walking. Not smoothly, which the martial eagle preferred.
Once he had grown closer, his ears perked up. Hmmm....He wandered over to investigate, letting himself be guarded.
"Hello," he offered out, cautiously.

The two were so busy being confused over whether they were in the right place or not didn't notice the lion with an eagle on his back. Chapua spotted them first but instead of saying anything he just flapped around a lot. After all it was a lion with a bird and though yes he should have probably recognised them, both he and Ghibu had been younger when the earthquake hit and that was quite a while ago now.
When Ghibu did notice she turned around and smiled.
"Oh hello!" Her voice was quite chirpy and happy. She didn't sound threatening but nor did she sound nervous. Seeing a lion with a bird was enough to convince her that Chapua was right and this was indeed home. She was also sure he would probably say 'I told you so' one too many times later.
"Do the Aka'Mleli still roam here?" She asked because she thought it polite though the excitement was clear in her voice. They were home!
