well, if you want to "try before you buy" Guitar rig 2 just recently came out. It's a fantastic piece of software if you have the means of getting a guitar signal into your computer.

I already have the program, I got it by.....uh.......my own means, and it was free. But I don't have the Floor Pad thing.

You can use the software without the floor pad thing. You just need to get your guitar plugged into your computer. From there, you just set up the input to Guitar Rig, and plug away. (You'll need to figure something out for this... maybe going from an amp line out to a computer would work)
