ehh... thing is, he was my best guy friend nd then he fell in love with me nd it was like that for a long time nd it rly made him depressed that i didn't like him back but i ALMOST like him x.x ... ANYWAY, he caught me in a vulnerable moment (long story) nd i actually said yes to becoming his gf nd i did feel somethin for him at the time but the next day ammediately i realized i dont like him afterall..... now im a horrible gf cuz i dont show him enough love eventhough i try x.x i mean hes a great guy, srsly, we've been friends forever so i dont treat him coldly or ignoring him nothin like that. i just never told him that i love him. nd he knows im not a lovable nd caring person so eventhough i have a lot of friends, they cant expect much from me. (hate that but cant help it) but yah like the thing is, my cousin/bff likes him and they used to be rly close but when he fell in love with me he paid less attention to her. and if she finds out hes my bf i'd die. cuz yah ehh he hurt her a lot and shes still depressed about it so i put that as an excuse to slow things down but i think he got it the wrong way... i think he still thinks we're together. eventhough i subtly kinda broke up with him a little but he ammediately got shocked, started asking me "but this is only temporary right?" im like "of course it is" "so are we still together or not?" "ehh we're jst keepin it on the downlow for a while dnt worry " "ehh.... alright. i love you" ".... ^^;;" ...... how do i break up with him without hurting him?

There's no wat to not hurt him. You need to talk to him about this and explain that you don't love him.

Life lesson: You can't break up with someone without someone getting hurt.
Unless your relationship had no true feelings involved. Which I am sure it does on his part. So hurry up and build up the courage to tell him the truth. You are making things worse by waiting. I have been in your situation so I understand the mix up but try to learn from it.

Kudos to you, Halt, for saying you'll try. It's scary as hell, but it's unfortunately the best solution. Besides, we're here for ya. ^^

Breaking up is hard to do. D; But staying in a relationship that you don't want to be in is a ton harder. I know, I've done it because I was too chicken to hurt him. I didn't want him anymore, but I didn't want to deal with the drama. Still, it would have been easier on both of us if I wasn't forcing myself to be with him. He could tell something was up and it was just awkward and weird not to say "I love you" back. Errgh.

He's going to get hurt, but just try to be very nice about it, and explain it to him. If he loves you, he'll understand.
