Cavern of Trials

Behind the Council Hall is a guarded gate. This gate shields a very odd place - the Cavern of Trials. When an apprentice is about to become a Serisen, he or she must prove themselves worthy of passing training and possibly becoming a mentor one day themselves. After the trials have been passed and the Dumyr has become a Serisen, however, they may choose to remain under the tutelage of their mentor.

The trials posed differ for each apprentice - each trial is specifically designed to test what the apprentice has learned.

The cavern itself is wide and open, with a vaulted ceiling. It is lit by flickering torches - sometimes things are still done traditionally for mood. The floor is a mixture of dirt and sand, the walls are rough stone with intricate paintings covering each crag and dip in the surface. The cavern looks quite unsuspecting, even with the elegant designs.

However, like the inner circle of the Council Hall, this room can be modified to serve many different purposes. Beams can be erected, mazes can be built, pits can be dug. The purpose of the cavern is to morph into whatever is needed to push an apprentice to their limits.
