Shade cringed. He hated the sight of blood. Especially when it got spattered on his face. And the fact that Laoise seemed to be enjoying herself didn't help, either. The kid looked like he had been through hell already. He could tell that the angry attitude was just a bluff, like a cat raising up and hissing, trying to look bigger. The kid was in pain, and was obviously losing. He looked like he had already expended most of his energy another fight, and was too tired to fight full on. Shade looked around his feet. All he found was a rock. It would have to do, he thought as he picked it up. He whiffed it at a nearby tree, "lightly". The solid granite rock shattered like glass on impact, and a sharp crack resounded as the tree splintered. That should be enough to grab their attention, he thought.

Laoise spun around and hissed angrily. For a second it was Jack who stood in her place once more, before he phased away and left the girl alone. The sight of the splintered tree surprised her somewhat. Was there another hunter lurkin around as well? Ah,it was time to leave anyways. The knives pulled out of the wolf's skin with a sickening sound as they drifted back to their owner. The werewolf slid down into a sitting position, exhausted. She stared at him for a second before trampling away through the under brush at the urgings of Jack. Her brother would be home early today and she would have to be there when he came back.
Rudi lay in a heap on the floor,as he curled into a ball at the base of the tree. Who would have thought there was a kid like that roaming the streets? And he thought,HE was dangerous. The wolf growled angrily. Now that he had been beaten, the girl was technically his leader. That was how it worked in the wolf's world. <******** kid..." The man complained as he licked at a wound on his arm.

Shade sighed. While Patchwork Jack was a force to be reconned with, Laoise was a little inexperienced. She was too hasty to try and sense her surroundings. She could have easily found him. But what worried him was when she turned around. Why had Patchwork taken her place? Shade stood. He looked at the kid, who was licking his wounds like a dog. For a demon, Shade had little knowledge of the supernatural, he thought, otherwise he would know what the kid was, and why he was licking himself. "Geez," he said, projecting his voice, "I leave that kid alone for an hour and look what she does! Makes a new friend and finds interesting new ways to play with knives."

The boy growled and looked around frantically, trying too locate the speaker. Two wolf ears popped out of his hair as he tried to force himself back into his wolf form. He was failing. There just wasn't enough energy.
"Who's there?! Show yourself you COWARD!"

Shade frowned. He wasn't hiding, was he? He looked around. He saw what the problem was. He was standing in a shadow, making him near invisible. He stepped out of the shadow, into the light. "Sorry bout that, kid." He studied the kid. The kid looked to be more in his late teens, early twenties. Older than he was when he died, anyway. "You okay?"

The wolf man grunted as he edged away from the newcomer, even though he was still a bit of a distance away.
"Do I look okay?"
He gestured to his wounds angrily. He had had no idea that mere kitchen knives could do so much damage; maybe the power of whatever had been moving them was immense? He didn't know, but he could now see his bones through the gashes.

Shade couldn't blame the kid for being pissed. Pain does that to you. Shade cocked his head, just to tease him a little. "What's your name, kid? And what were you doing picking a fight with a knife wielding telepath?" He adjusted his hat, grinning.

Telepath? Those were real? He had always thought they were the things of sci-fi books...but than again,a good number of people didn't believe in werewolves too.
"I was eating..."
He pointed to the man's chewed up corpse that was laying in the underbrush.
"She snuck up on me!"

The corpse smelled to high heaven, even from where Shade was standing. But he tried to keep a comical grin on his face. "You didn't hear her? She moves about as subtly as a chainsaw with a jackhammer." He chuckled. "Seriously! Those giant ears of your's have to be good for something." While he was making jokes at the kid, he had to remember that the kid wasn't normal; and looked to be some kind of thropic being.

Drops of red bloomed like flowers on the trees trunk as Rudi struggled to stand up. He studied them intently before detaching from the tree and wandering back to the corpse. His meal had been interrupted rudely, but that didn't mean his appetite was completely destroyed. The man bared his teeth and a wolfish grin and began to tear away at the flesh.
"Whatever. I need to track that thing down later to pledge my allegiance anyways."
The wolf said between "bites".

Shade frowned. "You're gonna pledge allegiance to the person who just tried to kill you?" Shade's curiosity got the better of him. "Who are you, anyway," he said, shoving his hands into his pockets, "And WHAT are you? Obviously not human."

Rudi looked up,his face smothered in drying blood. He cocked his head to the side curiously and stared at Shade.
"Its a wolf thing. As you can see,I am alone. Therefore I am the leader of my own/empty pack. When the leader is defeated the winner becomes the new pack leader."
He grunted and rolled onto his back in the grass.
"My name is Rudi. What am I? A werewolf. DUH!"
He snarled angrily.

Oh, Shade thought. That explains it.
"Well, Rudi," Shade said, walking forward cautiously, "Nice to meet you. Call me Shade."
He stopped ten feet away from where the werewolf was lying, adjusting his hat again. "Never seen a werewolf before. Where ya from?"

Rudi stared up at him from under his matted dirty hair.
"I'm from out of town."
He grunted and rolled onto his stomach as he thought.

Laoise wandered down the street angrily,on her way home. A familiar neon sign however, caught her eye. The convenience store! The girl trotted over to it and looked through the door as she tried to figure out what snack she was going to steal.
