Langley got one last twister out before the onslaught of vines finally took him down.
Nyx looked on as Jen and her Pidgeot took to the skies to try and defeat that rampaging beast.

Alas, even the strong and powerful fell after a time. Unable to stand against the wave of the fire attack, exhausted since the Sunny day attack faded long ago, and just plain stressed out, the Venusaur staggered for a moment before hitting the ground with thud as powerful as one of his Earthquake shocks.
Yamir desended and watched as his trainer climbed off his back and a soggy Aeon clamored onto her shoulder. In his paws was an empty pokeball and, from the look in both of her friends' eyes, she was going to do what they wanted her to do.
"........Im sorry."
The capsule bounced against the large plant pokemon and it disappeared inside.
When it ceased to struggled and the pokeball went still, Jen scooped it up and stared at it for a moment before turning to stare at her partner.
"Well, we cant say that we came out of this empty-handed, right?"

The little scientist climbed out of the tree and dusted herself off. "No, not at all. And we will find that plant in the morning." Nyx looked over the ruined camp site. A combination of earquakes and tornadoes had run through the center and everything was a mess.
She sighed and gathered up her pokeballs before grabbing her sleeping bag and dragging it to a flat and clear spot of land. "Back to sleep. Hopefully we won't be woken up by more pokemon..."
Newton floated over to Nyx's new spot, landed, and went back to sleep. He hadn't noticed the fight at all.

Jen needed no further urgings to go back to sleep, some of the SLeep Powder from earlier seemed to be still affecting her.
Grabbing her sleeping bag from the jumble of mess, she climbed in as Yamir took off to perch in a new tree. As aeon curled up in her arms, Jen was out like a light soon afterwards.

Early in the morning Nyx woke up. All of her pokemon, save Newton, were already inside of their pokeballs. She packed her sleeping bag before she returned Newton to his.
"Jen. Get up. Time to find our plant." Nyx nudged her partner with her foot as she stared at the pokeball containing her newest pokemon. The grass type would probably be useful for finding what they were after... but she was worried about how it would react to her.

"Nergh...Im up...."
Somewhat. Jen wiggled her way out of her sleeping bag and finger-combed her messy hair into something somewhat tamed looking before packing up her own belongings.
But, after what happened last night, Jen wouldn't be too eagered to see what else was hidden beyond the tree line. Especially more high-level pokemon like the Venusaur she had caught last night.
Speaking of which- Before Jen could open her mouth to reply, the newest looking pokeball on her belt burst open in a flash of light and shifted into the forementioned pokemon. Unlike last night though, the pokemon didnt look angry or upset; instead, the plant type shook himself out before staring at the two humans infront of him with a steady expression.
"........Saur."

Once the Venusaur escaped the confines of its pokeball, Nyx's new Chikorita found its way out too. She looked between the two humans and turned her nose up.
"We're looking for a plant, lets go." She shrugged at her new pokemon. It would follow. A caught pokemon was somehow compelled to follow its trainer.
"So... What are you going to name yours?" Nyx asked as they trekked through the forest.

The Venusaur rumbled happily at the sight of the Chikorita unhurt; a vine uncoiled itself from the depends of the flower/tree on its back to gently grab and lift the little pokemon so she was riding on his back.
But, as the humans spoke to one another, the grass pokemon seemed to be thinking about something. It didnt take long for him to make up his mind as he lumbered after them.
"Mine?" Jen and Aeon exchanged a glance at one another. "Um...hm...I didnt really think about it, actually. ....I have a good idea for a name in mi-IIIINNNNNND?!" Something thick and strong wrapping around her waist was Jen's only warning: The next thing she knew, she was being lifted through the air by her new pokemon and placed carefully under the broad petals on his back.
The venusaur glanced back at her while letting out a noise that sounded a great deal like pokemon laughter.
She only gave him a mock glare in return as he did the same thing to Nyx.
"Warn me the next time you do that, okay?"
The Venusaur rumbled again before lumbering on.

Nyx screamed the whole way from the ground to the back of the Venusaur, then stopped. "...Mnnn." Nyx whined. She didn't like surprises, especially in the forest. A forest that housed a powerful Venusaur at one point.
"I-I haven't thought of a name yet. I'm sure something will come to mind."
After half a day of lumbering, they finally reached deep enough into the forest for it to be possible to find the elusive plant.

The Venusaur came to a stop just a few paces from where they had planned to go search for the flower. The trees infront of him were too tightly packed together for him to pass through easily.
Jen saw this too and climbed off of her new pokemon with Aeon clinging to her shoulder.
"Hm...So much for free taxi service. Looks like we need to go on foot from here." The grunt grinned at her partner and withdrew the Venusaur back into his pokeball.
"Shall we?"

Nyx climbed off and the Chikorita followed.
She nodded at Jen and passed through the line of trees and began searching.
"They grow near mossy rocks and rotting stumps, away from large leafy plants, and especially clear of nettle." Nyx looked around and headed off to check spots that matched the description.

"Mossy rocks..." Funny, there seemed to be plenty of those...considering she had almost slipped at least five times now.
"Sounds like this flower is a full-sunlight plant that uses the water near mossy rocks and the decomposition from the stumps to grow." Jen let the thought hang in there air as she avoided treading right on top of an ant hill; Aeon was keeping an eye out for said plant from his perch, pokedex clutched in one of his paws.

Almost right after Jen said 'mossy rocks' Nyx's foot went down on one and slipped, with Nyx coming down right after. She caught herself as she hit the ground, avoiding banging her head on anything.
And as she viewed things from this new angle, she saw it. The elusive plant was right in front of her. "I found it!"

"Really? Sweet!"
Jen reached down to help Nyx onto her feet before crouching and carefully pulling the plant out from the ground. Not yank it, yanking it ment damaging it...
And Jen REALLY didn't need Nyx to be mad at her. An unhappy partner ment fights.
"Alright!" She slipped it into a small container and handed it to Aeon, who promptly stuffed it into her backpack. "We got yer cooking ingredient, so we should start heading back to the van." Jen chuckled and spun around to backtrack. "For all we know, more of our new pokemons' friends may have taken it from us."
Maybe the lab techs would find something to do with it when they got back to HQ.
Either way: Mission Complete.
