Part Four; Goodbye, kiddo

Well, it seems that Iban has finally tired of dragging you around the forests. At the border of Lake Ha'Tooka you stand with him; the festival is nearly over and soon wandering across either border will no longer be even remotely safe.

Here I leave you, young one. I thank you for cooperating with me this evening. You are forgiven for wandering into my territory. He grins at you. In the distance you can hear a female call. Iban turns without another word and bounds in the direction, drawn home by his mate's voice.

However, your night isn't over yet.

A crash and roar resounds from behind you. Spinning, you are face to face with the angriest di'taki you have ever seen. It seems festival or not, adahy or di'taki, he is going to attack you.

Rules!
*- One response per person.
*- No, you cannot kill this di'taki.
*- This is the last round!
*- You will receive a response on the outcome of your actions, even if you're no the one to take home the prize.
*- This is not a CYOA. You can't be "eliminated".
*-Your response will be judged more on creativity than writing ability.

If you don't own an adahy or di'taki of your own, feel free to respond using a made up one! This event is open to owners and non-owners alike. Results will be announced Tuesday, August 31st.

Ashwin watched Iban bound off into the wood, apparently drawn by the call of his mate. Finally, he could at least catch the very end of the festival and possibly get something to eat; he was starving! Tilting his head slightly he turned, intent on heading back to the festival.

He froze mid-step, eyes widening at the loud crash sounding behind him, swallowing thickly and slowly turning his head. Quickly he spun, staring at the seemingly infuriated di'taki; had he done something? Why did his night have to become even more complicated? Apparently fate was determined to make him miss the entire festival.

Ashwin backed up a step, making a started sound as the di'taki suddenly charged him. He had to think fast or he wouldn't just end up missing the festival. Quickly he leapt to the side, his feet sinking into the soft soil on the bank of the lake. The enraged di'taki was fast, however, changing his direction quickly and barreling towards him.

His eyes slid down to the slick, sucking mud at his feet, then to the lake. If he could just get into the water... No time! Immediately he wheeled, jumping from slippery rock to slippery rock and finally making a desperate lunge towards the water, leaping into it; he hoped the di'taki's rage would blind it to to the over-saturated soil beneath its feet.

Ashwin peered back at di'taki when he heard a furious roar, watching it attempt to get back up only to slip on the overly slick mud. He relaxed a little, watching him struggle to free his legs from the small mud bog; at least it didn't seem deep, just something to slow the angry male down.

Lifting his head he began to swim to another shore, not paying attention to the enraged roars following him; he just wanted to get back to the festival. Finally he climbed out of the water, glancing around him and shaking himself off; home free. Quickly Ashwin bounded back towards the festival; he'd had his fill of adventure that night.
