I don't know why I though of this ninja I was thinking maybe doing something like a featured avatar thing like on the home page of gaia xD like people could either nominate themselves or others maybe and out of those we could put their usernames in a hat and draw one name out of the hat and that would be the featured avatar for the week or a few days xD
(yes I know I'm a crew memeber, I'm just seeing how many people think this would be a good idea xD)

I think it would be cool if CEC did a blind auction... Basically take a whole bunch of random items... no one knows what they are and people bid on them! It's fun!

Regarding the bump rule, I think it should be removed or at least be amended.
I agree that until the first 150 posts have been made, that the no bumping rule should still hold true. Those first 150 posts are about getting yourself into the community and showing that you're serious and also letting everyone know who you are.
After that however I think that bumps should be allowed in certain places given certain circumstances. Quest threads, for example, should be allowed to bump once they fall below a certain place on the list (I'd say 10th on the list .... maybe 5th?)
Also bumps in a dice roll/ random number generator contest are a necessary evil. If a person is below the 150 post mark, then I'd say that they can still participate though they may not bump. They can interact with other users in the contest via chatting. (Only tricky part about that might be monitoring the difference between bumping via stretching out a convo in several posts vs actually conversing with other users)
That last bit kind of ties in with my next suggestion.
A dice roll contest or a random number generator contest.
So long as you set it up right, it can make it so you have a larger prize for something but it happens in a time further in the future. It's not right away. Harder to win and also creates a place to chat that isn't just the "meet, greet and chat it up" thread, which I've noticed most people don't really bother with anymore. As sad as it sounds, if there's a prize involved, they're more likely to be actively participating there.
Since the handouts for being active have sort of died off (as far as I can tell) along with activity taking a plummet, I think it might act as an incentive to get people talking again.
WITH the contest however, bumping only would be prohibited. You would have to talk and interact IF other users were on and posting as well in the thread. Chatter required. No ifs ands or buts. Irritates the heck out of me when people go to a dice roll thing where it says to talk and you have 3 people just posting emotes over and over and over again while ignoring each other D<

I was also thinking an entertainment discussion forum wouldn't hurt either.
But when people discuss things in forums, more often than not, various entertainment things get brought up.
Books, movies, television shows, music, etc
I'm not saying to have a forum for each but it would be nice to have a place where it's specifically dedicated to that sort of thing rather than just trying to cram that all into the jabberbox >.>
I can think of a few threads that could start out the forum, among them would be a few "favourites" threads (what are your favourite TV shows, what are your favourite books, what are your favourite movies, etc), a "what are you listening to now?" thread where users post what songs they're currently listening to (provide youtube links if possible - entirely optional though) that way we get to share music among guilders <3
Movies we could have people discuss various genres, movies that are in theaters now or movies that are soon to be coming out among other things.
Books will probably be the least popular (but very near and dear to me) and people could go on about their favourite authors, books they've enjoyed, books they've hated, series that they like. They could also discuss how screen adaptations of various things vary from the books (good adaptation? Bad adaptation? They did the best they could?)
Anime and manga will probably work their way into there as well so you could talk about favourite series, whether you prefer anime vs manga, subtitles vs dubs etc.
I just think that it would be something that would give the members something more to discuss.
Also, I think video games could somehow work their way into there as well <.<
Everyone needs a good pokemon discussion thread, right? <3

Suggestion : I love music. It ranges from rap, metal, r&b, indie, trance, dubstep, etc. We should have a Music Appreciation forum where we all can share each others favorite songs and genres. It can give us the opportunity to explore new worlds of music we've never heard of before.
We can also organize each genre into different subforums so everyone can easily see where their favorite genre is, so they can talk to people with the similar taste in music! mrgreen
