Sasuke is not shy. At all. stare He's reserved, a bit (maybe more than a bit..) anti-social. He's no social butterfly at all.
In the eipside where he asks Naruto for help climbing the trees, and he blushes and is hesitant, it is because he's embarrassed/ uncomfortable having to ask someone he views as a rival for help, and also admitting, by asking for said help, that, in this, Naruto is better than him at that moment (which would be a big blow to that huge Uchiha pride)
