The tenseness wasn't lost on Aden, nervous as he stood on stage and practically wishing he could disappear in the moment. He felt like he looked ridiculous and was about to be put through a proverbial fire with a large amount of Ecruteak's population and tourists alike. He couldn't help feeling pressure was on him alongside the watchful gazes, especially as the lights came down and made him reactively flinch. Was he really as ready as he said? Could he put on a decent show? Or was he about to fall on his face and give a poor name to the Kimono Sisters and their theater? He wanted to back out badly as anxiety started to get the better of him, giving him cold feet and making him wish he could disappear. But that would be an even bigger insult...

As he looked further at the audience, he could notice a few Snagems too. Freth and Blizz among them, and he was pretty sure he could see Sol as he came in too, Cera on his shoulder as her tail swayed and streamer appendages swayed in the wind. The two had opted to find a spot next to the others, quietly speaking up as they did.

"So this was what you all had in mind," Sol commented, hoping to break the ice in a better way than how they met. Though Cera looked over to the other two, the chimera hybrid would keep quiet, still feeling bad about her recent display. Maybe she had been a bit overbearing...

All went quiet as soon as the strum of strings and drums banged, a voice speaking out. Aden thought it'd make sense to have smaller Fire-types around for the sudden blaze, though being so close to it was a little unnerving. He'd see the Clefairy too as they added to the scene with the shooting stars. It felt a lot like a Swift at play, and knowing what was actually happening did detract a little from the magic... but the crowd being in awe as it was, he couldn't argue the results. He also couldn't argue still being in awe, this being how he was learning of this legend proper in the first place. To his credit, he tried to work within the context he was getting with the story, awe giving way to a hint of discouragement and trying to let that lead to a sort of quiet determination.

That was when Sayo and her Jolteon had approached, serving as another of the villagers. He tried his best to give calmer motions to match the traveler's answer, with Sayo's Jolteon now in the ring. Time to put on a proper show. He thought about letting Eevee out since having her out around the sisters' evolutions would be very fitting, but her lack of experience worried him. And maybe leading with her wouldn't be the best idea anyway. As he shook his head, both to keep up the act and to shake his own thoughts, he pointed towards Sayo as the next answer came, taking Nidorino's ball to send him out into the ring. Already, he and Aden could tell it was awfully cramped now that part of the space was taken up by Jolteon; there wasn't much space to move around at all, and it'd be easy to be strongarmed out.

Nidorino gave out a cry as he stared down Jolteon, unsure about how he'd maneuver all that well and trying to maintain the vibe he and the rest of Aden's Pokemon had been told about... minus all the times where Eevee kind of got in the way.

The small crowd would watch the battle, anticipation in the air. As I watched, I could tell Aden was all manner of uncomfortable. Try as he might to look like he belonged on that stage, one would think he’d think he was being punished for the loss against Morty, which is far from the case. Aden needed more help; all that he could get. In any way he could get it. Though I had to admit this was unorthodox, the reasoning was more than sound. Worse was that this was probably not going to be the toughest battle Aden would ever do in his Pokémon battling career. He needed to look at battles at all angles, achieve new skills, work new ways, and the best way apparently is to put him under pressure. From desperation comes invention and innovation. By what I could see, Aden only had little space to work with and needed to minimize the damage that he could to his Pokémon as best as he could. Simulated situations that would very easily come into play rather being with Team Snagem or just simply doing a gym run as he is doing now.

The players were set. The pieces in play. It was time to battle. “Jolteon!” Sayo spoke up. “Thundershock!”

From the edge of the ring, Jolteon’s spiky fur spiked up a lot more than it had before, sparking fiercely with electricity. “JOLT!” the electric Eevee evolution howled out, unleashing a harsh electrical shot towards the Nidorino.

“Man, already I’m seeing how unfair this is going to be. Jolteon can just keep his distance. Nidorino can’t leave the ring while Jolteon can. He can just Thundershock Nidorino into submission, never mind any other sort of attack. You’ve been around a while, anything that Nidorino got that can take on this thing?.” Freth said.

“Not much. He’s got a Shockwave attack, but that’s useless against a Jolteon. But that’s for Aden to figure out.” I said.
