Wren had been a troublemaker for far to long to feel comfortable here, in Central Quarters, and she fidgeted anxiously as she waited for the person whom she was supposed to be shadowing. The front desk had assured her that the detective would be down shortly when she had claimed her visitor badge, but it felt like it was taking forever. She guessed that was what happened when you showed up early for something that you really weren't sure that you wanted to do.

It hadn't exactly been optional, which was the main reason why she hadn't darted out of the building, back to the safety of her dorm, and she glanced down at her notebook, checking to make sure that the questions that she needed to ask were written down. They were.

Wren sighed. Why was she being so nervous? This was just a routine thing, they probably had job shadowers here all the time. Plus she hadn't done anything too illegal lately. There was just no reason for her to be inwardly freaking out. She took a deep breathe. She could do this. She had to.

Times like these reminded Hannah Moss of just how expendable she was to the bureau. Sure, there was a long list of good reasons as to why she had been chosen as a representative for the investigational department- she was clean, organized, competent. She wasn't prone to violent outburst, nor was she one of those creepers who got their jollies off of the crime scenes and spent the off time with a cup of coffe and a pack of cigarettes. They did have a couple.

To be completely honest, Moss had forgotten her appointment until she glanced at her computer. She’d been reviewing paperwork, not minding the time when she noticed a flashing out of the corner of her eye. And there it was: Wren Casimir, 10:00 Shadow. Clock: 11:30. The service desk had not made a call and they were not supposed to. Luckily for Wren, she would not join the ranks of the many who had had their time wasted by Blacksuit negligence, those who had to call out of work for something as trivial as an interview only to find themselves writhing in the waiting room until they were told they were rescheduled for another day. No, while Hannah was prone to forgetting some of her lesser commitments, she was not the type to shirk them when given the oppertunity to fufill them. Wren Casimir would still be waiting on her.

She stepped past the receptionist without a glance, slicked back hair and a cool grey gaze that panned the room with a casualness that belied her calculation. There were a few students there, flipping through books, and a few glanced up with hope in their eyes when she entered. Of course, it quickly died to anxiety. Hannah didn’t have the most forgiving of faces- it was all sharp angles and narrowed eyes, skin stretched like canvas over a frame an tacked hard into place.

”Wren Casimir,” She said lowly. Softly. It was hard to ignore the red hair, and the profile had mentioned a scar on her face. The detective’s eyes were on her, but she did not approach, expecting the student to come to her. Once she had, those grey eyes stared down at her over the jut of a cheekbone. “I’m Detective Moss. Any variation of that is acceptable when you speak to me. Shall we?” She was half turned toward the exit of the building.

She had finally sat down, having realized that there was no reason to be standing, and was flipping idly through a magazine that she wasn't even mildly interested. Still, it gave her something to do with her hands, and something to concentrate on other than the fact that she had walked into the very lair of the beast.

Wren's eyes flickered up when a woman entered the room. She was certainly intimidating to look at, all angles and narrowed eyes, almost looking as if she was annoyed by having to come down here.

When she heard her name, as soft as it had been, Wren rose, and walked over to the stern looking woman. "Yes, Ma'am," she responded, the memories of her mother's lessons on manners coming to mind. This woman wasn't the type that Wren really wanted to cross, or, more accurately, this wasn't the place for Wren to want to cross anyone. She was hardly that stupid.

"Of course, detective," Wren answered, her notebook held loosely against her side. "I'm ready whenever you are.

A niggling part of Hannah made her feel as if she should apologize to the girl for her tardiness, but being a Blacksuit meant you didn't have to say you were sorry to anyone who didn't hold rank over you. Besides, she was here, wasn't she? So she didn't say anything regarding the matter and just led her shadow to the door, opening it for her to step out into the cool weather.

"It's about time I took lunch," She informed the girl, who she could have also thanked for the reminder that her body occasionally needed sustenance in order to drive itself. There was a cafe of sorts not more than three blocks away from the compound where Hannah and many other workers took in their morning coffee before trudging off to perform the daily grind. They offered a lunch special for the few that checked in, so the blonde woman led her there now. "After that, I'll give you a tour of our department. I would suggest you use this time to ask me any of the questions you've prepared." She had seen the notebook that Wren was carrying, after all, and it didn't take a genius to deduce it served some sort of purpose if she bothered carrying it around with her.

The bell over the door chimed dimly as the detective opened it once more for her young companion. "Order whatever you want. Don't worry about paying." This could be, in essence, her apology. Truth be told she would be a little nervous about this interaction too, if she thought about it. She had never been very good dealing with children. She wasn't really practiced in dealing with anyone but witnesses, really.

Honestly, Wren hadn't minded the detective being late, she was the reason why she had gotten excused from all her classes for the day, so, she really couldn't be that upset.

She nodded, as she followed Hannah to the cafe. She had been a little curious when the older woman had led her out of the building, but the mention of lunch made sense. She was briefly glad that none of her acquaintances would be caught dead in this area, she had enough trouble dealing with them relating to her investigation studies.

They entered the cafe, and stepped up to the counter. She was perfectly ready to pay for her lunch when the detective spoke. "Thank you," Wren said, ordering a small soy mocha and a veggie wrap. She stepped to the side to let the detective order, and then took their number over to one of the tables.

"So," Wren said, as she took a seat, flipping open the notebook over to the page where she had scribbled down the questions. "You don't mind if I take notes do you? I have to write a paper afterwards for class, and I'd really feel more comfortable if I could write down your answers."
