There are so many brilliant Ravenclaw wizards throughout history. Sadly, most ravenclaws aren't given the attention they deserve

That's all right though, it makes them have to shine brighter to be seen. Sort of like Hufflepuffs.

That's actually a good idea for a story. Take historical people and put them in Hogwarts.

I wonder what the american equivalent of Hogwarts is, what their houses are and who founded. And if there was a fanfic with historical people having gone to Hogwarts, that would be awesome.

That would be an interesting fanfic. And about the American school of witchcraft and wizardry, i dont know ehre it woud be located, but I know there has to be one. I think each country has their own, since there are beauxbatons and durmstrang.

@cg, in the forth book, JKR mentioned a Salem Witch Academy at the Quiddich World Cup, I'm not sure if I remembered the name correctly but that's one of th American schools.

I remember reading that. I think going to Hogwarts would be much better than Salem (accused witches died there!) scream

But, still, that's awesome. I wonder, if that's a witch academy then is there a wizard academy? Since there are public schools in America, and those sound private, then does that mean there are three schools? Hmmm....

If we're on the lines of thinking of other schools, then is there schools in third world countries? And how do the wizards and witches there find out they're magical if there's not?

Obviously, as many have said in here, my favorite Ravenclaw is Luna Lovegood! She fulfills the mysterious and dreamy love throughout all. ...And anyone who suggests nargles are behind something truly is a wise one XD

Daughter of Merlin If we're on the lines of thinking of other schools, then is there schools in third world countries? And how do the wizards and witches there find out they're magical if there's not? I think it depends on the culture and location. Like, in some countries, being a witch/wizard might be frowned upon meaning that if they're taught it would be in secret and likely by a family member. Or, perhaps, it is a great honor (there being no boundaries separating muggles and the wizarding community) and the children are taught by an elder. Again, it depends on the culture. @Valentine: hmm.... maybe... or maybe it's AMOM.

I kinda feel bad for Padma Patil in GoF during the Yule Ball (it's pretty funny how Padma was in Gryffindor in the movie though), Rona and Harry weren't exactly good dates for parvarti and padma, were they?
Edit: Rona, lol. FAIL.
