Okay guys, 4000+ items and I still have no idea what to do with them. xD So just throw some ideas at me. Give me a picture, tell me a theme, give me colors, different avatar styles, use a certain item, a challenge. Whatever.

There seems to be a magic number. Too few items and you don't have enough items to make outfits with. Too many items, and you become so overwhelmed with options that you can't think of anything to make. I don't know what the magic number is.
I rambled the other day, but um, how about... Okay, I assume with 4000+ items that you have some EIs. Use the latest pose of your last EI that evolved. Use a pose you don't like.

Lol. I do have a few EIs. So I was looking through all of them and trying to figure out if the coocoon or the wingding came out later, and then I realized the Catastrophe evolved way more recently than any of those.
Well I equipped the last pose on it, and that got me nowhere. But I put on a dress that sort of matched, and then I looked for shoes. And I just happened to click on the zOMG monster boots, which are actually really pretty! So I ditched the catastrophe and worked with those instead. But then I put it back on in the end, because it looks alright. I wanted some red eyes to match the cat, but I don't know what item I could use for that. And maybe I'll change it to a different mask. And different handheld.
EDIT: I actually changed my avatar back. I got sick of that one. xD

I like to pick weird colors mixed with standard colors when I'm hitting a road block. I know cabbi told me she likes to use the items she recently bought, not only to wear it (because you just bought it might as well have fun now) and find out how it layers. So what is your latest item?

Have you tried making an environment of your inventory on tektek? Sounds crazy, perhaps, but tektek will sort your clothing differently than you sort it in your inventory so it can really help in avatar blocks. You can also search for matching colors.
I have quite a few items and this is a godsend for me. I constantly lose items in my inventory or find things and go "wtf? what is this? I don't remember having this... guess I'll wear it!"
