Faris offered to take Robin out for a bit so Mama could have a small rest and Wolfram had gone off elsewhere on his own, which was something he was want to do from time to time. It was pretty much assumed, by all involved, that the marionette boy could take care of himself and didn't need anyone watching over him. It could also have been an agreement that the boy would go off on his own anyhow in some way so it didn't really matter in the end. Luis got Robin ready in his summer clothes and then gave Faris the money to watch over when they got to the arcade. The only stipulation was that the pair was to return before night set in.
The Gargoyle held her brother's hand and went to the arcade with him feeling a little sluggish until they managed to get inside where it was mostly dark except for a couple of games and other areas that had to be well lit to be played properly. Faris let Robin pick the first game.
Robin peered about feeling mildly put off that he wasn't allowed to wear his favorite jacket but since he got to pick what they do first it sweetened the pot a bit and he pointed to Whack-A-Mole and Faris obliged after she got the tokens together. She remembered this game fondly or at least a version of it. She played it with her best friend!
"Okies, Robby, grab mallets and smash their heads!" she said encouragingly and watched as Robin did so. Even though he was just a toddler he managed to hit with a decent amount of accuracy that or just pure dumb luck.
If there was ever one, tiny saving grace behind having Kay as a brother, was that he would let Tek latch onto him as an excuse to leave the house, should Switch be demanding he not go out alone and in the event that Quin was off elsewhere or otherwise busy. Of course, once out of sight of the house they always parted ways, and after both agreeing to be back by a certain time so they could get their story straight before getting home. In doing it this way they both won, and it also prevented Tek from pulling crude pranks on the eldest brother. He was useful. Ridiculously stupid and annoying, but useful. The sour-looking criminal had decided on the arcade today, and after 'accidentally' tripping a few toddlers to make up for his morning, was just wandering around, looking for something interesting to play. He spotted the pair near the whack a mole, tilting his head with his ears perked, watching them for a moment before approaching.
"Didja SERIOUSLY have to paint his nails? Bad enough he already looks like a girl."
Faris stared up at the pale skinned older boy and frowned a bit before she shook her head, "Nonos! I did nots do that. Robby dids it on his own, stoled my markers." It was safe to say she didn't like this boy's tone at the moment. The Gargoyle shifted a bit closer to her brother to keep him mindful that she would probably stop him from taking a swing, which seemed to be a thought crossing the toddler's mind.
...Alas the older dark haired boy was standing too far away.
Robin set down the mallet and folded his arms in front of himself as he stared up at the boy, "So what? Whas'a matt'a Princess? Pissed that I look prettier than yoo?" he retorted refusing to back down.
Tek's red gaze flickered towards the stone girl and the way she refused to be the culprit...and while he decided whether or not she was lying, the snarky little blonde thing caught his attention again, his brow lifting. "Oh please." Tek sighed out, rolling his eyes, his position shifting to mimic the younger boy's, only staring down at him. "It would take plastic surgery for you to even hope to match me, even on a bad day." While he hated the way he looked, he absolutely loved to argue, and hey, whatever helped. "Besides, If you get any more worked up, your mascara'll start runnin."
Faris sighed a bit as she watched her brother and the strange boy face off against each other. As long as neither of them were harming each other she didn't have to step in.
The blonde seemed unperturbed by all of this as he just continued to stare up at him, "Whate'va makes yoo happeh, Princess," he replied dismissively refusing to rise to the occasion. It wasn't that he was beaten but he thought that particular barb was far, far beneath him. Robin reached up and mimicking some patrons he had seen he gave Tek a single finger salute.
"ROBIN!" Faris called out absolutely scandalized as she moved forward to push the middle finger down, "not nice," she murmured at him.
Robin giving up meant Tek won, no matter the reasoning behind it. Did...that kid just give him the finger? Tek's eyes widened for a moment...and then he burst out laughing, doubling over and holding his sides. That was priceless! "HAH! Don't listen to the chick, kid!" Tek encouraged once he could talk through his cackling, his ears flattened happily against his black hair and a hand lifting to rub his eye with the heel of his palm. "Screw being nice, that's ******** awesome." It probably wouldn't have been as funny if the sister (he assumed sister, she didn't look much older than he was) hadn't reacted like that. Since she did, it just made it priceless.
Robin wasn't exactly looking to be laughed at as he tried to resist the Gargoyle girl who was currently trying to push his finger down, though the praise seemed to catch his attention as he stared up at the older boy with a raised eyebrow. Was there something wrong with the older kid? Seriously one minute he was being insulted and now he was being encouraged.
..Whatever.
The Gargoyle huffed a bit up at Tek, "Mama'd kills him if she knew," she insisted as she managed to get the gesture to disappear as Robin continued to stare at the boy.
"You always listen to what your Mama says?" Tek said in a disappointed but mocking tone, tsking with his index finger. He looked back down at the boy apparently named Robin, jerking his thumb at the rather endowed girl. "Mama's girl over here seems to forget that what Mama doesn't know won't kill her." Tek made a point of looking at the girl again, only this time, he added a little grin that bared his fangs; part of his new found hobbies included giving 'bad' advice, and this chance was perfect. "So you can do and say whatever the ******** you want, and if your Mama catches you, lie." Because she must have misheard, of course!
Okay! The kid wasn't so bad. Slowly Robin grinned a bit and nodded lightly, "Hell yah," he chirruped at the boy and soon had a hand clasp over his mouth as Faris glared over at Tek.
Her tail was swishing side to side anxiously as she decided to try and make mother sound meaner, "She knowwwss peoples. She will makes him disappear," she hissed under her breath, "even yous if you keep this up!" Granted she had seen her mother angry. It happened on the day Robin came to them and she didn't care to repeat the experience thank you very much.
Robin's eyes rolled as she pushed away her hand, "Mom ain't here," he echoed the boy's earlier comment.
Tek grinned proudly, if only for a moment. His expression dropped back into his generally unimpressed one, and he once more looked at the girl who insisted on trying to ruin their fun. "Geeez Woman, pop a midol or something. It's just swearing. If yer that worried about lil'Robby here getting taken away, you should just make sure Mama doesn't find out." While he was proud that he's gotten the kid to start swearing, the novelty of it all was fading fast...and he was starting to get very bored.
Robin laughed at least for a short moment before suddenly his eyes widened and he let out a small cry of pain as Faris suddenly gripped his shoulders very tightly. Suddenly the Gargoyle went around her brother and launched herself at Tek her fist raised to at least try and clip him in the jaw. She'd show him who was a woman!
The boy stared at the vengeful act his sister was taking and furrowing his brow as he tried to stop her midstride, "FARIS NO!" but she seemed to not hear him as she continued on. Even as a toddler he knew that giving in to this p***k would just make them even happier. Then again it was probably an older mindset that was still distantly active amongst the childish mindset he was now trapped in.
He wasn't sure how he did it, but he did. He saw the way the Gargoyle moved, and her expression...and despite the swell of pride that followed the realization that she was aiming to hit him, something else stirred in him. Self-preservation, perhaps? Regardless, he managed to duck aside just before the Girl could hit him, but in the process stumbled and nearly tripped thanks to his own tail; he was still getting used to moving with the damned thing. Luckily he managed to stay standing, but unluckily his little stumble made it impossible for him to try and trip her. How disappointing. "Whoa there, Sweetheart, Watch it ya don't bre-" Tek whistled out, his red eyes wide. Then, of course, something else hit him, which made him cut himself off. "Wait, your name is Faris?"
She uttered a growl when she missed and managed to just barely recover so she could turn and try and attack again feeling the rage still boiling within her from the...the insults. Yes, insults. Just because she was slowly starting to accept her state that didn't mean he had to make it sound like such an...an insult! She growled and forcefully rolled up her sleeves, "What it to you's?"
Robin watched with a bit of ... amusement? Despite his dismay and that nagging feeling of worry that his sister would get hurt (why he cared he wasn't sure), he was still very amused and perhaps smirking a little. He was fairly certain (with a childish amount of pride that surprised even him) that his sister would beat the other boy's face in.
Tek sighed heavily in some vague sense of disappointment when she challenged his question. Of course, that meant her name was Faris, and how many Gargoyle girls with nice racks and that sort of temper could there be? While he did share Robin's unspoken certainty of his eventual doom, it wasn't going to get him to back down THAT easily...he really did enjoy having someone that riled up. It wasn't quite in his interests to mess with someone who might be Kay's friend, but at this rate there was no stopping it...the best he could do was to go a little slower? "Just sayin, I thought the Faris that Kay keeps talkin about would be prettier somehow...and a lot less of a pushover. You're real easy to bully."
The momentum of her anger was draining quickly if he wanted to keep her angry talking at her like he was now wasn't the way to do it. She flushed involuntarily as she darted her gaze away and crossed her arms over her chest suddenly feeling self-conscious and uncertain within a short span of a time. She backed away, "How you knows Kay?" she snapped quietly.
Robin tilted his head. That was certainly quick. He wondered if this boy could maybe get his sister going again, though as he gazed around he noted that the manager of the arcade was now watching them like a hawk, apparently the ruckus caught his attention. The small boy stared at the manager and stuck out his tongue and then continued to observe the other two.
Any reaction was a good one, and though she wasn't angry anymore, she was clearly still uncomfortable. It wasn't as good, but it was good enough. "Let's just say, the guy is a ******** moron and I'm forced to live with him." Tek elaborated, not really wanting to call Kay his Brother. There was a little pause, and the kid made an obvious show of looking her over; it had quickly become clear to him that this girl hated being called one. "Yanno Robby, people supposedly hang out with like minded people...so she's either a moron, or a whore...or both? I dunno, whattcha think?"
Robin was about to respond when his sister suddenly launched into action again, it was just as well Robin wouldn't have been able to answer. Again some sort of nagging thing that tugged at him and told him not to speak badly of his sister, the minute he figured out how to not listen to that feeling he will start to gleefully ignore it.
What mattered now was that again Faris let out an angry growl, the rage suddenly burning in her gut. She went to Martial Arts classes to curb these feelings but with everything that had been going on lately she was failing spectacularly at keeping herself cool and contained. Again her fist was raised as she moved to punch him right on the nose. So what if it broke, the crunch under her fist would be most satisfying.
Like before he wasn't sure where it came from, but there it was. His body jolted and shuddered into action, taking a bit of a scampering jump backwards and out of the range of the punching fist. Whoooa, this was fun! Despite never having done this face to face before, it was thrillingly awesome! Now two for two in the avoidance department, Tek was getting a little full of of himself. "Whoa, you've got shitty aim! Whassa matter, afraid you're going to break a nail?" Okay, very full of himself. "I bet you hit like a girl, too." He taunted, really unable to stop it at this point. Tek didn't see the manager at all; hadn't the faintest idea that they were even being watched.
Robin was at least playing lookout for the both of them so it was okay that the boy wasn't paying much attention. Thus far the manager seemed to think it was horseplay or he didn't take it threatening since the girl had deflated earlier...
This time, however, she didn't seem willing to back down; she suddenly launched herself at the boy again she was aiming for another swing toward his nose, anything to break in that obnoxious face and possibly send a few teeth flying. Her face was an expression of determination, "SHUT. UP." She cried out angrily. This time, Tek was not so lucky. He did start to move back as he had always done, but alas, that damned tail got in the way. While he stumbled to keep his balance, Faris' fist finally landed on him, and right where she'd hoped. The sickening crunch that followed sent waves of pain through him, and once his body hit the ground, he quickly sat up, clutching his face, his hand over his eyes. "********!" He cried out, his vision starting to blur and his face beginning to feel hot, especially where she'd punched him. "Jesus ******** Christ, woman!" Tek hissed out, his hand shaking as he drew it away, seeing the blood...and suddenly feeling sick to his stomach.
Suddenly Robin called out, "Oh! Angry man coming this way we better run!"
She was about to respond with a kick when Robin's voice broke through the angry haze and she looked over and saw a very upset manager heading their way. Faris let out a low hiss as she dropped the bloodied fist to her side and grabbed her brother's hand and stared down at the bloodied boy. Sure he was currently a pain in his side but should she leave him behind to be interrogated and punished...?
...It was too late Robin bypassed her hand and scrambled over to try and help Tek up. The small boy tried valiantly to get one of the other boy's hand and lead him out before the manager got to them.
Tek barely heard Robin, but it was his incredibly stubborn nature that had him already trying to get back to his feet, even despite the bursts of pain through his skull. It was his first real time getting hurt like this, and christ, he didn't like it. It probably wouldn't stop him, but he didn't much care for it. Despite it being his face that was bleeding, he somehow felt that he had won. He startled when Robin grabbed his hand, and despite being smaller than he was, Tek used him as leverage to finally get to his feet, and then to scamper away with them, one hand still on his face and his eyes squinting to see through the pain to where they were going.

Faris made a face as her brother went to help the other boy. She supposed her decision was made for her and when that was all done they went and scurried on out followed by curses and very unhappy sounds from the owner of the arcade. Obviously they were no longer welcome at that particular arcade provided they are recognized, since at least two of them were very distinctive looking ... It was probable that they would be.
The Gargoyle led her brother and the a** into a side alleyway where she leaned on the wall a bit and proceeded to try and catch her breath with her hand resting against her abdomen. She felt the blood dry on her hand. Robin let go of Tek's hand once they were in the alley mostly because he didn't want to continue holding the other boy's hand ... That just felt weird and not in a good way!
Tek followed where ever it was that Robin took him, holding his free hand to his nose in some vague attempt to control the blood. Holy crap he bled a lot! A normal person shouldn't bleed this much, right? Ugh, wonderful. His shirt was white, too. Greeeat. Once they were safe in the alley, Tek snatched his hand back from Robin and sat himself down, grumbling in irritation when he sat right on his tail. Shifting to free it, he grabbed one of the ends to his scarf, holding that against his nose as well. He wasn't going to say thanks, or to acknowledge that they'd helped him out in any way; he was too busy grumbling over getting punched in the face by some stone chick...and this was his favourite scarf, too! Goddamnit. "Now what?" He grumbled low, voice a little bubbled as though he had a cold.
Faris peered around the building that formed the alley to make sure they weren't being pursued while Robin shifted his shoulders at the other boy's grumble. He couldn't exactly think that far ahead, plus he didn't know the area that well yet so he wasn't of any help. He just knew that letting pretty-boy with the funny wings stay behind like that felt lower than he was willing to be at that point. Robin looked up at Faris as she came back.
"We take him to his home, yeah?" Robin asked curiously as he folded his hands behind his back.
The Gargoyle sniffed a bit, "Why should wes? Anyways we should takes him to hospitals, cause he's hurts."
Tek rolled his eyes, dropping his arms to rest on his propped up knees, the bloody scarf falling to his lap. The blood was just starting to congeal, but a trickle of it still pooled...apparently he bled like those anime things too: excessively. "If yer okay wif me tellin' 'em ya punched me, 'ospitals fine." Because they would ask what happened. And he would tell them. The biggest issue was...he didn't want help from someone who hurt him. Then again, if she took him to the hospital, it would be an inconvenience for her, wouldn't it? Hah. Hospital it was! "Change'd mah mind, hospital go, won' tell, lessgo~" He climbed back to his feet, one hand bringing the scarf gingerly back to his face.
Robin didn't have much to say since he was mildly indifferent to this whole thing. It was the other boy's fault for antagonizing his sister so really Robin lacked sympathy beyond not letting the other boy stay behind to get in trouble. He would let Faris and the boy fight it out.
Faris grunted a bit, "Fine hom--," she stared at the bloody mess before her for a long moment. What the hell? Did he have some sort of mood imbalance?! Was there something wrong with his head? Augh, she hated this boy hated him so much and she never hated anyone before! Stupid, stupid, stupid...She clenched her teeth and smiled sweetly showing off her fangs, "Fine, let's goes to hospitals then."
The toddler let out a small giggle, unable to contain himself. This was funny! The boy made his sister do all sorts of weird interesting things that he didn't think her capable of. Faris' tail swished about as she waited for everyone to be ready to go before she led them toward the nearest hospital.
Faris' sweet smile was met with what one could only assume was an equally sweet, equally fang-baring smile in return...if it weren't for the blood and bruises. Smiling hurt too much and his lips dropped back into their default frown, the scarf going back up to his face as he followed her to the hospital. Robin got a glance when he giggled, and the criminal risked another smile, lifting a free hand to give him a thumbs up. He liked this kid. He liked him a lot. When they got to the hospital, Tek decided to loop an arm with Faris' because hey, if she fought back here that'd get her in trouble, Hah! "Such'a good widdle sister~" He said, raising his voice in a mocking tone; it was muffled enough through his nose and scarf, though. Luckily it was around then that the nurse came by to take him to get a quick checkup done, and he grabbed Faris' arm tighter, rumbling on about how his face got bloodied...by saving his dear, sweet and charming sister from some thief.
Robin gave a thumbs up in return with a bit of a grin before they followed his sister to the hospital. He had grabbed a hold of her free hand and even made to act as if distressed by something horrible that had happened to his poor, poor sister. If it hadn't been for 'Big Brother' who knows what would have happened. He hid his face shyly into his sister's other side during the entire time as he whimpered and whined trying not to laugh the entire time. He got a pretty nurse to give him a lollipop for his performance so it wasn't all too bad!
Faris wanted to throttle the boy oh so badly but she kept a smile upon her lips, a smile that didn't reach her eyes at all. For the sake of consistency, however, she agreed with whatever Tek said though as he squeezed her arm her hand firmly rested on his and squeezed back with intent. She would murder him if he put it on any thicker, this she swore. She didn't care if she got in trouble for it. Faris gazed down at her actual little brother and decided that he wasn't going to pay for it, she'd make this boy pay for it. The boy whose name was apparently Tek.
Tek was so very happy, for several things; one, that Robin kid was playing along with him, and two, Faris wasn't fighting back! Well, much. That grip got a bit of a hiss, but that was easily passed off as residual pain from his face. He knew that so far, out of everyone he'd met, Faris both deserved to and probably would happily kill him dead the moment she was allowed to. He'd only given his first name as the nurse asked for it, and after a little examination (in which he refused to let go of Faris, because it was fun to him) it was determined that his nose would heal up just fine, that there wasn't anything to worry about...and that his sister should count herself lucky for having such a wonderful and selfless Brother looking out for her. Something Tek tried really hard to keep straight faced about, but he did snicker and glance at her. He was given a prescription for some pain killers, and after pocketing it was allowed out with his, uh, siblings, in tow.
Luckily, due to his age and the excessive bleeding, they were in and out quickly, and once outside he released Faris' arms in fear of getting that broken, too.
Faris took it all in quiet (but very angry) stride. She nodded and a bit as the nurse told her how lucky she was and how wonderful her brother was. Even if she insisted on a different story and absolved herself she highly doubted it'd do anything other than make matters worse and also make Tek do something even more annoying in exchange. Needless to say when he glanced at her all he saw was possible doom staring back at him with a sweet, sweet smile.
Once let free they went outside with their brother and it was wise Tek removed his hand because she was about to grab it and swing him into a nearby wall and make a run for it. Faris kept a firm hand on Robin as she stared at Tek, "We, that means Robin and mes, are going homes. You...go jumps in a pit and die horriblies, yis? Good."
Yup. If anyone was going to kill him, it would be Faris. Still, all he could do was grin back, especially now that the blood had been cleaned off of his face at least. His face still hurt insanely badly, but somehow it was all worth it. "Naaah, And die 'fore you learn ta talk proper? Never." With a garbled hum he stepped back, glancing through the hospital doors to get a glimpse at the clock. "'Sides, moron's out soonish. Gotta get tageth'r again yeah?" This time, he was looking at Robin, managing a smile at the kid he decided was a lot of fun...even if they didn't get to do much today.
She stared at him though unlike with Tek she didn't grip her brother's hand tighter or anything that might hurt him even in her anger, "******** yous," she hissed between clenched teeth. Yes, she knew a bad word! Faris learned it while wandering about the patrons as they talked quietly while she cleaned nearby tables. Faris' tail lashed in quick annoyance.
Robin watched up at his sister with his lips forming a small 'o' shape in amazement before he looked up at Tek and nodded, "Hell yah~," he agreed cheerfully before suddenly he was tugged along by his sister who was dragging him off. Faris obviously had no interest in learning who the moron was. She wanted to leave before the outside of the hospital turned into a murder scene courtesy of her.
Even Tek looked surprised when she cursed at him, about to comment...but she was walking away eagerly, with Robin in tow. He waved at them, then wandered off to get to the arranged meeting place with his Brother. Naturally, the first thing Kay did upon spotting the boy's bruised face was to gawk. "What the hell happened to you? Who'd you piss off?" Tek rolled his eyes, ignoring him but instead looking at the smears of blood on his nice white shirt. "Yer Mom." Was his brilliant reply; he scruffed by Kay, who was chuckling and following after. "No really, who? We gotta figure out that the hell we're telling Na...She ain't gonna like his." Snorting but hissing in pain moments after, Tek threw a glare at his brother. "If yah don't shuttup I'ma tell her YOU hit me." He grumbled, making his way home silently. Really, what WAS he gonna tell Switch?
