 The city is located in Nevada, United States. It's dark and gloomy in appearance, a pile of various identical-looking buildings with white walls and roofs in the middle of the deserts of Nevada, with the buildings resembling those of European origin from the 1800's. The occasional Shinigami skull structure is shown above the buildings. Right at the top of the 'pile' of buildings is the Death Weapon Meister Academy. A single long road leads out of the city.The Sun and The Moon that appear over the city (and in the rest of the world in fact) have faces and can usually be seen grinning or chuckling. The businesses also tend to have supernatural themes, including a coffee shop called "Deathbucks", a parody of Starbucks, and a cabaret club called Chupa♥Cabra's, a reference to the supernatural creature of the same name (without the heart symbol).

A parody of the famous real-life Starbucks, Deathbucks is the coffeehouse in Death City.
It is shown as a gathering place for some of the students of Death City.

A parody of the real life ice cream chain, Baskin Robbins.

A well-known French restaurant in Death City, famous for its good quality. Inside, it looks incredibly grand and posh. Marie was asked on a date to the Deathsteraunt by Joe Buttataki as she loves French kitchen, but unfortunately, he did not turned up as he was murdered by Justin before he could see her.

The characters sometimes turn up to the court to play basketball in their free time.
The court is surrounded by trees and some walls with graffiti painted on them and has a few benches on the edge of the court.

The square in Death City is not shown that often, but Black Star, Tsubaki, Liz and Patti are seen to eat their ice cream in the square, sitting by the fountain in the centre of it, which may mean that it is a hangout for some students.

Death City has a large number of alleyways, all of which are covered with graffiti and strange-looking posters. In the series, the alleyways are often used as a scene for dark and disturbing scenes. Medusa's confrontation with Eruka and the oldest Mizune sister in the alleyways, and also possesses Rachel Boyd in an alleyway as well. She also communicates to Crona in this location. An alley is also where Justin kills Joe Buttataki
