Simply put, which do you like better and what differences do you see between them?
I'll kick this off by pointing out that Fuyuki isn't as pitiful in the manga as the anime makes him out to be. Case and point, in the manga, he joins the manga club and is somewhat popular in it, where in the anime, he makes the Paranormal Investigation club which not many people* join.
*At the point I'm at, only Momoka's joined, so I don't know if anyone joins in (much) later episodes.

I don't know... they both have their good and bad points. I personally prefer anime a bit more because I am a visual person. I like to see action actually HAPPENING rather than being written or drawn about. And I find the actual process of creating an anime interesting... whether is it the computer techniques involved to make a character move, for example, or the voice acting behind it. I've always loved and appreciated cartoons/anime and the imagination behind their creation.
But, as you said, the anime often leaves things from the manga out, because the live-action show only has a certain point of time in which to create a plot, and may not be on target with the character's personalities due to time constraints (The time slot is usually 30 minutes or so).
But in the same aspect as a visual (and artistic) person, I really do enjoy the drawings of manga. The drawings are very "sketchy" to me (in a good way, I LOVE sketching), so I can directly relate to them. I draw most of my pictures in just black and white, and I prefer them that way sometimes. And I know that it is NOT easy to draw manga or any artwork - it takes time, commitment, and, yes, love. heart
The problem with me and manga is that I tend to finish reading them MUCH too quickly, so it was a "temporary high" for me. I suppose it can work the same way with the anime, but... a manga can literally take me 10 minutes to read. sweatdrop At least the show is longer?
But I digress... both manga and anime in themselves are great. I can't really choose one over the other... but if I HAD to, it would be anime by a slight margin.

Anime, only because fight scenes are better when they're animated. But don't get me wrong, I'm a huuuge comic freak, so manga has the same kind of appeal to me. As if you get the chance to draw the animation in your mind... but sometimes you're too lazy to do that and would rather have people do it for you.
I also am interested in the anime/cartoon creation. My friend and I pay extreme attention to voice actors (anime not so much, only to the godly ones like Vic M. and Dan Green.), which is actually really fun to do. Once you're familiar with them you get to start guessing who plays who, and that sense of accomplishment if you're right is a great feeling indeed. Blah, rambling. Apologies.
BUT... Even though I prefer anime, manga is perfect for when you see something absolutely amazing and you want to remember it forever. x3 That's why I want to get volume 11 of Keroro Gunso, Garuru Platoon arrival and such. I might have been more in to manga if the freakin' libraries around here would get a bigger graphic novel section! >_>
So my answer is anime. Even though I'm a comic fanatic I just prefer the animation.

Aw, thanks. :3 I totally forgot about the shortness of manga, and I completely agree with that you said about that. It's hard to believe 22 minutes of anime = 5-10 minutes of reading. It's a good timesaver but you want to enjoy it. xP

So... I guess I'm the only one who's noticed any plot-related differences between the manga and the anime then?

To be honest, I haven't read the manga. Trust me, I looked in every library and the convention I went to and no one had it. I can't answer your question under those pretenses. Sorry.
