A huge smile spread across Jin-Ho's face at the boy's excitement. He was happy to know that the boy had a good outlook on the situation, even though he had lost so much. In a sense, his brother did come back to him, even if it wasn't in a way that people would normally think about, or even really hope for. Chauhn's dreamy explination of his looks and family warmed the man's heart, glad to hear that the boy still thought fondly about his lost ones. "I'm sure you two will look just alike." Though it sounded like something someone would say to make another feel better, Jin-Ho was actually quite serious. Who knew? These little Plagues were so strange, and if they actually were related, then who's to say tha the won't look like Chauhn's late brother?
He did have to admit that Chauhn's point of view was right. For all Jin-Ho knew, his sister was happy and well taken care of. She probably was better off, whether or not he missed her as much as he did. He nodded his head as the boy explained his feelings toward the matter, the smile on his face softening, but not going away. "...you're right, I really shouldn't be so upset over it. She's being taken very well care of."
In all honesty, the family wasn't too bad. It was just the fact that his sister was practically auctioned off.
Jin-Ho then turned his attention back to Clurie, chuckling as the Phasmas turned himself into a cigarette. He rummaged in his pocket for a moment before pulling out a rather long toothpick and offered it to the little Excito. "Would you like to play with this?"
A quick glance out of the window alerted Jin-Ho of what time it was. The sun had begun to set, the sky and anything that the sun's light touched had a faint, orange glow to it. Did this boy have somewhere to go...?

"We do," said Chauhn matter-of-factly, purposefully correcting the tense in Jin-Ho's observation, because he knew it in his heart to be true. He and Clurie were brothers, born of the same blood, born of the same family. Of course they would look the same. "We do look alike." He smiled with eyes half-lidded at Clurie, who was having the time of his life burning up the paper in different swirls and designs and symbols that had no meaning but to entertain the eye.
"She is lucky," Chauhn said in response to the situation of Jin-Ho's sister. It was a quiet statement, not meant to be taken more than a small tag to the conversation. It wasn't said in envy, but stated like a fact. Of course, he had no idea the precise circumstances, he only heard tell of it in conversations like he was having now with the scholar.
Taking a piece of paper for himself, Chauhn began to fold it with his callused fingers, hoping to fold it into something like a boat or a hat for his brother. He contented himself with the puzzle for the time that Jin-Ho chose to interact with the ash Plague.
Looking up at the offered toothpick, Clurie's little mouth widened into a cheek-to-cheek grin. If he had eyes, eyes that could even be seen underneath the rim of his floppy hat, they would've brightened like a struck match. He clumsily crawled out of his makeshift burning den to snatch the toothpick, having to hop in order to reach the token. Holding it in both hands, he observed the little gift, his grin still tacked on wide onto his face.
"This is BRILLIANT!" Clurie exclaimed in a loud piercing shout. It was to no one in particular. Forcing his hands to cool, while his cheeks remained ember hot, he waved the toothpick about wildly like a flag before he determined it's function, "A spear! I will use this to defend the nest!" And with a flurry of aimless toothpick waving, Clurie retreated to the quickly diminishing pile of paper, diving into it with a crackle. With his imagination sparked, the Phasmas was good and properly distracted, probably for the next fifteen minutes.
Chauhn, fortunately, had more manners than his little brother. As he leaned forward to hand over the little paper boat he had made, he smiled at Jin-Ho, "Thank you, that's very kind. It should tide 'im over before we 'ave to return to Lord Yizhaq."

He smiled down at Clurie, deciding to stand and stretch his back. It was getting late, and soon he would probably have to report to the Lady, if not going to get some rest. It was a very interesting night. It was nice to have talked to Chauhn, and seeing Clurie excited him more than enything that had actually happened that night. His mind rushed with images of what he thought his little brush would look like, excited to see his little Plague. Something that could run around, rather than sit on the desk and... ooze.
Clurie's little outburst from the toothpick caused Jin-Ho to laugh, one of those big laughs where you even close your eyes. This little Phasmas was so cute, he hoped he would be able to see him again, soon.
"Will you be able to find your way to Yizhaq's quarters from here?"
Straightening out his evening clothes, Jin-Ho made one last check to see if Blaithe was still quietly tucked behind his ear before smiling down at the two once more. "You two have fun with that paper, and you're always welcome to ask for more." He turned, his hand gliding along the edge of the table, "And if you would please clean up once you're done. Make it easier on the servants."
With one last wave goodbye, Jin-Ho headed back to his own quarters, allowing the two to have their own time to themselves once again.

Chauhn nodded. As long as he could find an exit from this building he would be able to find his way over to his Lord's estate, which was within the Fellowship's walls but outside the castle. He was good at navigation, something that was cankered onto his instincts out of pure necessity.
"Ahll be fine, sir, ah know my way," he said. Chauhn held the firm belief that he no longer needed to be babysat, especially after having lived by himself for years on the streets of Imisus. Clurie, on the other hand...Well, that's why Chauhn was around. He leaned forward and pushed come of the burning paper back into the fireplace before he made a mess on the tile.
When the scholar started making motions to leave, Chauhn made sure to get up before him and offer a handshake. It was the only polite thing to do. "Thank you so much, sir, Ah mean, Jin-Ho, for all the paper. It was really nice of you sir, very nice of you, indeed. Thank you. It's a great 'elp to Clurie 'n' ah. Ahll make sure t'clean up." Chauhn had no intention of leaving a mess. If anything, he would leave the place cleaner than it was before he arrived, he would make sure of that.
Waving to Jin-Ho as he left, Chauhn knelt back down before the fireplace. Clurie was, at that moment, a sailor in a little burning paper boat, spouting something about a sea-faring tune and catching fish. Chauhn smiled.
It would be easier here at the Fellowship, he determined, much easier than the Council. Especially if he kept meeting grand people like Jin-Ho. This, he surmised, was a good decision.
