Kousetsu had been helping her mother more then most would at her age. She was an adult now, time seemed to fly by fast. She felt like it was only yesterday that she was a cub. Then again, she still kinda acted like one time to time. She found herself looking at water, to see herself. She always wondered where her blue markings came from, though her mother wouldn't ever tell her. Weather she knew or she didn't. Her sister was mostly blue, so it became a constant thing to think about.
She let her paw down from her hair fluff, allowing it to cover most of the blue markings upon her face. She looked mostly like her mother, other then a few differences here and there. Which she liked that fact that they didn't look exactly alike. She didn't want to be called Pona. That wasn't her name. She flicked her tail as she continued to sit on the rock that peered over the water. Life was easy here, and she loved it.
She didn't know many in the land, for she was always busy helping her mother. So she had hardly any friends. It made her sad sometimes, but then she remembered that things could be worse, and it made her feel a little bitter. She smiled at herself before looking away at the land before her. She enjoyed watching things from afar, never getting to close unless she had to.

Kimbizi was no stranger to looking at his reflection in water. He was well groomed, and took great care to keep himself that way by spending his free time staring at himself in the water, and making sure his mane was just so and his fur wasn't smudged with dirt. As he was making his way down to the watering hole to engage himself in a mind numbing grooming session, he realized he would not be alone. For some reason, Zi had issues with grooming in public. Not that much he did wasn't in public - he had seven siblings and then many more half siblings. Grooming, though, he did try to do alone. At least, now that Intombi was gone.
Not wanting to seem rude, the grey lion continued his path to the water's edge, trying not to look or make eye contact with the lioness. This was supposed to have been his personal form of quiet time, so he wasn't about to start a conversation. He wouldn't be abrasive, though. That didn't suit him. Instead, he planned to lap up some water, wipe off his maw and take a quick peek at his reflection, and then leave quietly. That way, it wouldn't seem he was avoiding her. Maybe, he'd throw a courteous nod her way.
And that's exactly what he did. Zi padded up to the water and dipped his head for a quick drink. Then, lifting from the water, he looked over at the tawny female and nodded politely. Plenty of interaction, right?

She didn't notice him until he came closer to the water where she was. She looked at him with almost a jump. She hadn't expected anyone to come up so quietly, or perhaps she was just too distracted at other things to have noticed. "Oh! You frightened me" She said with a giggle. She wasn't afraid to admit silly things like that. She caught his nod, and didn't take a hint that perhaps that was the only thing he wanted to do and then be on his way.
She stood up from the rock that she was on, not too fast about it. "I'm Kousetsu" She said politely. She figured it was best to at least exchange names. She wasn't really good at the whole social thing, after all. So she wasn't exactly sure what to say to the other.

Social interactions weren't really Zi's thing, either, but he did know how to be respectful. When the lioness spoke more, he realized he would be here a few more moments. "Didn't mean to scare you." He sniffed and scrunched his nose while staring back down at the water. For the moment, he was trying to come up with a quick exit. It'd been a while since he'd had to talk to anyone outside the family. Not that that meant he didn't talk to too many lions, because his family was more than enough. It was ridiculously large. "Sorry." For such a well kept lion, he could be terribly awkward.
After a pause, he looked over at her on the rock. Oh goodness. Now she was standing. Yes, he'd be here a while. With little hint of resignation, he shifted his front paws just enough to change his angle slightly towards the tan lioness. "Kimbizi." He nodded again as if that's all that needed to be said about hellos or introductions, though he was getting the idea that this lioness didn't understand his reluctance to speak.

Kousetsu didn't really notice any uncomfortable behavior between them. Of course, she only new two others. Her mother, and her sister. She'd never actually ran into another lion until now. She was a bit nervous about this fact. Which made her hardly notice his not wanting to be there.
"Pleasure to meet you, Kimbizi" She said. His name was interesting. Then again, her's wasn't very normal either she supposed. "What brings you here?" She asked trying to keep something going. Though, she had a feeling she'd end up scaring him off. She didn't really move from the rock, just stood there. She wasn't sure if she should jump down, or lay back down. How did these things go, anyways? She eyed the ground as she thought about it, not realizing she probably looked a little crazy, or stupid.

Yup. She didn't get it. The fact that he didn't want to be here was going right over her head. Finally coming to terms with this, Zi sat and wrapped his tail around his front feet. He might as well suck it up and get comfortable. He fought a strong urge to sigh, but trudged on with the conversation none the less. If nothing else, Zi was a respectful and polite lion, and he wouldn't be rude to her. That was for sure.
"Oh, I was just thirsty, I suppose." He wasn't entirely sure what had really brought him here. He couldn't remember. He'd taken to wandering lately. Had he been thirsty? Or was this just another place to hide. A glance down at his slowly dirtying paws told him he probably would have been grooming right now if Kousetsu hadn't been here. But, he tried to not focus on the negatives. "I don't believe I've ever seen you before." Not that that was a big deal in such a large pride. With so many lions, it could be easy to not bump into someone until now. Plus, not everyone who lived here had been here all his life. "Are you from around here?"

"Yes' She spoke with a shrug. She didn't really know how to answer that. She normally went about her business silently and out of sight. Hunting when asked to, and then her own stuff. "I don't normally make myself noticed" She said with a nod. She sat down on the rock, seeing as he got comfortable, no reason for her to get off her rock. At least her rock for the moment. It was a nice rock, good for baking in the sun and getting all the wonderful warmth it provided her. Her tail tapped on the side of the rock.
"I don't normally sit and chat." She said honestly.

Kimbizi bit back the urge to say he could tell, but when for the more polite route instead, as per usual. "Neither do I." At least it was truthful. He traced a small circle in the dirt under his paw. He liked to be noticed for his looks, but he didn't like to be so noticed that it attracted a great amount of conversation. Suddenly, he had a longing to be surrounded by his ridiculously large family, somewhere away from the general population of the Pridelands. He cast a sweeping glance around the area, but there were none around, of course.
"I don't really chat in general." Even with family, he was more quiet as the days went on. Mostly due to lack of topic. If he had kids, maybe he'd have more to talk about. At the moment, though, his life was pretty static and uninteresting. He spent his days grooming, walking around, hunting, eating and with family, if he felt like it.

"You don't even have a close friend?" It was almost hard to believe. Kousetsu had her mother, and her mother's friend to talk to when she needed to talk to someone. She couldn't imagine not being able to speak to someone when she needed them. She looked at him curiously, almost shocked look. Though he seemed to be more interested with the ground then her. Which, she didn't know if she cared too much about. Her tail drummed on the side of the rock.
She watched him carefully, then let her eyes drift to her own paws. Perhaps talking to him wasn't the best idea. "Don't you long to talk to someone at times?" Perhaps it was only a female thing, but still, it seemed unbelievable.
