The other day, I picked up my Pokemon Sapphire, which I haven't played with in about a month, and then turned it on. When it started up, before I could click on my saved file, this message showed up:

Quote:
"The internal bettery has run dry.
The game can be played.
However, clock-based events will no longer occur."

So, I guess that was to be expected since I've had my game so long... But I never realize it could die like that! gonk It doesn't effect my gameplay that much, but now I can't gather berries and win items from the lottery. (Which happened to be built right into my routine.)

Did this happen to anyone else? Because discovering this totally side-smacked me.

eek Seriously? Wow, I honestly didn't know that could even happen and I've had my games since they came out.

Lucky me hasn't had any problems. xd

I'm sorry to hear you aren't able to get the items anymore, and I actually would offer to take care of it for you...except that it wouldn't help. =/

@Everto: Ahaha, thanks for the offer. ^_^
I'm hoping that won't happen to my Pokemon Emerald anytime soon. >_< I've had that one since it's come out too. At least with the new games, you don't have to worry about that since the clock is built into the game system instead of the game.

Yep, it happens with a lot of those games.
Remember, they are, essentially, vintage.
You can fix them, but it's a complex process, xD That involves the use of soldering irons. They take CR 16 16T 3V batteries,

@Milk Cherry: Hmm... I see. Well, as much as I love my Sapphire game, I can live without it having a clock (and fixing it sounds like a rather complicated process. O_o) At least my pokemon are still there. Heck, I might as well transfer all of them to Soulsilver. XD

That happened to me, too!
I wasn't too upset about it, though. Since I hadn't played for a long time, either, and the only reason I turned it on that day was to transfer some 'mons into Silver, haha.
