As it is right now, there is nothing to worry about unless you happen to own a substandard factory producing substandard goods and selling them to wal-mart. The company has always been looking for ways to save on money in the long run.

The only effects of this use of the technology is that scanning will be quicker, since a broadcasted code is easier to pick up then trying to scan a barcode on a crumpled sticker on a bag, that Cell reception will probably go into the toilet in the walmart shopping lines, and that the quality of things in Walmart will increase a little.
