I read about it in a magazine that I'm subscribed to.
It's supposed to be based around 1 human character who escapes from the slaughter of Lothering(mentioned in DA:O). If you played DA:O, it'll show what you did in that game, how you ended the game will carry over and what-not. But it's going to be better because the main character will actually be voiced like in Mass Effect instead of the silent hero character from DA:O. So far it looks cool, they're redoing the art design so that it'll give them a signature appearance to it, so if you see a screen shot from it you'll say "That's Dragon Age 2" instead of thinking it's like LoTR or something like that.

That doesn't make it better to me, seems more like a give and take.
Origins was a theme in the first and it kind of set the foundation for this game to me. Now people can play DA 2 and have a sense of each culture/origin. (or more than one)
Now that all thats explored they can take it into a different focus. This should be great.
These Bioware games are definitively miles ahead of the field. They make references not just throughout history but current cultures/political scenarios/religious influences etc etc. The writers can see the world from a third person perspective I think this is the best writing in all of mainstream entertainment.

I personally like the thought of playing it in a cinematic perspective and that's why I said it's better but I have to agree with you.

Yeah well I don't have a popular opinion on it. I'm kind of indifferent about it but a lot of people love that aspect of Mass Effect.
It could be possible that Bioware is responding to some feedback too.

They said that most of the people who play Mass Effect don't skip the conversations and listen to it all and so they thought it would be fun to do the same with this.

I still wonder if there will be some kind of effect from Origins. I forget the timeline this next one is suppose to take.
Still if it goes past the Blight/Archdemon then there are a number of different scenarios for each part of Fereldn.

It starts at the part in Origins where the Blight overruns Lothering and it continues to follow the main character for his next 10 years.

You also get to see the result of your choices immediately instead of having to wait til the very end.
Also, if you played origins, you can load a game where you beat it and all your choices from that save will effect the world in the sequel. Like, different endings in origins will give different dialogue and stuff for the sequel.

I played all those Dragon Age DLCs it still feels like 2 is far away. D:
They've teased me too much |: I've read a bit more into Alistars fathers story though.
Not seeing why they're changing how some of the races look but thats not a problem. And I like Flemeths role in this next one as well. I only look forward to a few games a year. Its always Bioware and a sports title.
