i've been searching for items you can pass over as pokemon and spectrobes
but here's why:
now the rallen's sword is here on gaia i gotta express my love of spectrobes, but, i also like pokemon too, mostly fire types or steel or bug types, but whats funny is all these pet/plushie items can double over as either a pokemon, and some can double as a spectrobe, and a few can do both
take for instance: Gotti the Kid
---he can be either Houndoom, or the spectrobe: inkanapa, since he looks similar to them, albeit much smaller
Twister the fire pheonix is Ho-oh
Canadian Bacon is Pokabu
the ground-style of elemental spirits can be snadslash while the fluffy-white one can be flaafy
gwee the dragon, i'd say is closer to vibrava
and langer the dragon plushie could double as rayquaza
of course, not all pokemon are covered, yet, but that said:
i'd like to do a list of these pokemon-like items that details which pokemon they can be but i'll need help on it:
i dont know all of gaia's pet item poses, so i need others helping me find out which ones match which pokemon
so far we have:

Stunky/Skuntank: Mono The Skunk
Houndoom: gotti the kid
vibrava: gwee the dragon
ho-oh: twister the fire pheonix
Pokabu : canadian bacon
sandslash/Flaafy: elemental spirits
rayquaza: langer the dragon plushie

P. Nutt McCracken - resembles Pachirisu, albeit brown
Red Octopus (on my head) - Octillery!!
Gothic Butterfly - Butterfree
Unicorn - rainbow colored Rapidash
Jack Plush - if you squint, it kind of looks like Ghastly (only orange)
Tama's Basket - Tama kind of looks like Furret!
The Red Parrot and/or Yelliot - Chatot!
Diapered Egg - Any pokemon egg, really!
Trigger the Caiman -Treeco/grovyle/Sceptile:: Possibly a Feraligator or Croconaw*
Fuseling - Starly?
Pink Sweetheart Teddy - Spinda?
Asimov - Ursaring
Bailey - kind of a stretch, but possibly Stantler?
Song of the Nightengale - Starraptor or...I can't think of the other bird pokemons names at the moment! BRAIN FAIL! icon_gonk.gif
The Sun (OM NOM) - Solrock!
Chanho the Tiger Plushie - possibly Arcanine or Growlithe
The Golden Chuchilla - Pikachu!
Baron the Lively Owl - Hoothoot or Noctowl
Puggleston - possibly Snubble?
RuRu Kitty Plushie - Glameow!
Hunny the Bear - Teddiursa!
Swimming Goldfish - Goldeen
Teru Teru Bozu - Castform
Koi - Goldeen and/or Seaking
* by dkelpto this one was listed for feraligatr but according to looks it's more like a treeco to me, but i did honor his fidning it
i know there's more, so let's find them!

Interesting idea! I know there's a bat, but it doesn't necessarily resemble Zubat. And the tiger plush could serve as Arcanine in a pinch....hmm, I need ot check my inventory! *LOL*

here's my opinions:
the sun om nom is okay but i dont like how he's eating your avi's hair
however the chuuchilla item is perfect, and i did pick one up for my lovely fiancé of whom Pikachu is a must-have for her pokemon escapades
i think i'm gonna gun for a jack plush next since ghastly was the original ghost pokemon
as for disagreements
i also looked at the teru teru bozu item and: i think...
it's just a castform, while shape-wise it resembles Shuppet, it's obvoisly base don rain, which is one of castform's abilities so in my list i'll list teru as castform
the trigger item is okay but i think he is more of a treeco/grovyle/sceptile resemblance due to shape and color
---so i'll list him as such
Hunny is dead-on though, so very good job on that one!

double post but:
Hatroid = tentacool or tentcruel
more like cruel near it's bottom but the 'inside' object is more like cool in my opinion
whats cool about the Hatroid is in addtion to being ametroid spoof worthy of the tenta pokemon line, it's also a spectrobe imitation:
Tamazoa, a pink, blue or light-blue* colored water-type child-from (ie bulbasaur is child-form) who evolves into a rather ghastly 'paper-squid ghost' like killing machine called Gokazoa
* = in this case: it's light blue
hmm great now i'm working on two lists of companion items i want
(luckily though a few of them do double-duty)

I hadn't noticed the Hatroid connection, but now that you point it out, I can totally see it!
Stag Companion - Stantler (kind of, though Stantler looks more like a moose, really)
Hyena Companion - Mightyena or Poochyena, though the color is obviously off :p Maybe then can be Shiney versions!

Stag Companion - Stantler (kind of, though Stantler looks more like a moose, really) Hyena Companion - Mightyena or Poochyena, though the color is obviously off :p Maybe then can be Shiney versions! shiny is allowed but getting as close as possible is paramount thats why i stated which color Tamazoa was refered to because in origins you only get the default pink zoa spectrobes ---ie of gokazoa' killing power in origins: it's a long-range attack spectrobe whos normal attack can hit one foe two to three time or three foes twice in one shot, and it heals as it hurts foes by using it's ability, and you can bottle-neck your foes and do a massive barrage to fill up your charge attack meter and then use the charge attack for insane death to the krawl,which will also heal Gokazoa, and it comes freebie at fully maxed abilities but it's the last freebie you get in origins truely deadly spectrobe and my fave water-type spectrobe i'll update my list later tonight or early tomorow
