Well, I'd recently found out that you can trade between the newer poke mon games with Emerald after you get through the Elite four.
So I'd left Emerald in the game, HG was in its slot too. Came to play Emerald and it was erased!
I don't suppose there is no saving grace in the system or does anyone know the cause for sure? I'm suspecting the system itself, having both in at the same time.
Any thoughts?

So having both games in, what did you do?
Did you just load HG and turn it off or what? Or did you actually migrate then go back to find it erased?
Your Emerald game could be a hack and thus the DS Pokemon game erasing it...but I don't know the full story.

Your Emerald game could be a hack and thus the DS Pokemon game erasing it...but I don't know the full story. No migrating was involved, I'm not that far in HG to do that yet. I played on the Emerald on the DS, HG was also in there and when I came back the next day to start up again on Emerald, it was gone. I'd only left it in with the HG in the DS for like a day, no odd exposures or leaving my pack anywhere it was in.
Other information: Well, I did get Emerald online from China. It seemed to be running smoothly and a brand new in seal game (or so it said and looked 100% legit) and before that I'd had this one guy at GameStop warn me ''look inside cartridge make sure you see the official Nintendo logo, which I did.
I suppose there is a small chance it had been hacked, but I thought I had the whole 411 signs on a hack, you know? So, I want to say no, but that 's all I got, I wouldn't know what else to look for if I didn't know about something.
Meanwhile, my husband has the game now. I'm keeping it away from the DS and keeping it in the SP to see if it will do it again. He's ''bored enough neutral'' towards it to play it for something to do, but wouldn't die if the poke mon got erased. But as soon as I can, I'm trading with him.

i've actually had something similar happen, i put a game in the bottom slot and one i the top, after playing the ds game, my data on the gba game was deleted. im pretty sure theres no way to get the info back without redoing it.

It made more sense to me if it was just a ''two-game-in-the-same-system'' issue. I'm going to check the instructions see if there is any advisement against it or warning label. Glad to see I'm not alone but sorry it happened to you. It's frustrating, huh? My husband is re-playing it on the SP I guess if it happens again in there, that's the only way to know now.

Well, it's official. I think I have a defective game for sure. It keeps reseting at random times.
What's more, the seller is missing.
Word of advice: No games from Hong Kong or China. Not unless they are confident enough to give like more than a month of a return policy or something...
My mistake...
But the local repair shop said they can't fix it, unless it was a battery issue. Bummer...
