Rules!- You gotta Love 'em! Rules:
Please follow all Gaia TOS and Rules & Guidelines
No out right flaming or trolling will be tolerated.- Cussing is aloud, but to a minimum or moderate amount. An example of what won’t be tolerated – “F*** you, you f*** B******. You’re a piece of dog S***” Yeah, this won’t be tolerated.
Be respectful of one another- If someone is saying something wrong, or misappropriating a term, ect. Don’t just say, “No. You’re Wrong.” More in how to respond to topics
Please be honest- Don’t lie about your craft or your religion to make yourself sound cooler. Believe me, it happens.
Please practice responsible paganism- We’re all here to learn about one another, and to be a community. Open-mindedness is encouraged, but we don’t want you to be so open minded that your brains fall out on the floor. Some sources are, in fact, better than others. It’s up to all of us to develop critical thinking skills and to not take everything at face value. Just because it was in a book doesn’t mean it’s infallible. One should also note that just because someone questions you on something, that does not mean they are attacking you personally or your faith. The best way to understand where someone is coming from is to ask questions, after all.
Cultural Misappropriation- Please, don’t do it. There are certain religions and beliefs that are considered “closed cultures”. This means that if you are not a legitimate member of one of these religions/cultures, then you are not entitled to claim any part of them. Examples of closed or oath-bound traditions would be Wicca, certain Native American cultures, and Celtic cultures. There are several books out there that will tell you otherwise, and tell you this is okay to do, but the fact is that it’s not.
Misappropriation of Terms- Please, don’t do this either. Examples of this would be: Saying you’re druid. The druids are a long dead, specific caste of people that belong to the Celtic/Gael culture-which was also a closed culture. The word Athame is also wrong. Athame is a blade, consecrated in a specific way for a specific purpose within Wicca. The proper term for anyone outside of Wicca would be a Ritual Blade.
Please mind the crew. If you have a problem with a crew member, please inform me of it. Likewise, if the crew members are having a problem with certain members I would like them to tell me so.
This will be a guild with discussion. Light debate is encouraged, but if it gets to the point where it has turned to flaming between members, either take it to PMs or tell me of the problem. I would also like to take the time to mention again that just because someone asks you a question, this does not mean they are personally attacking you.
Please follow these rules, as they are written. If you have a question about them, feel free to pm me about them. *Not following these rules as they are written can result in a temporary ban from this guild. We will be using the old three strikes system.
First strike- You will be contacted through PMs with a warning from one of the crew members.
Second strike- You will be personally warned by me.
Third Strike- You will be immediately banned, and be PMed about why you were banned.
You are allowed to ask me or other crew members as to why you received a warning. Feel free to PM me about it, and i'll discuss it with you.We will also be operating on what what I like to call a democratic yet benevolent dictatorship. Before you will be warned, the crew member that feels you have violated these terms will bring it to the crew sub-forum for it to be discussed and voted on. However, I have final say on everything as I am the guild captain. Table of Contents: Introduction Rules- You gotta Love 'em How to respond to posts What to do if you disagree

How to Respond to Posts The nature of this guild makes it nearly impossible to tell someone they are wrong in what they believe, except in cases of closed culture.
That being said, there will come a time when someone will use words or beliefs that they are not entitled to, or misunderstand. If something is fundamentally *INCORRECT* please post a *POSITIVE* correction.
Example:
My family have been Wiccans for over 300 years!Right way to Correct this-Is it possible that your family may have been witches, or followed an eclectic tradition for three hundred years?wrong way to Correct this-No. You're wrong.OrYou Lie! Wicca is only 50 years old, Moron! That being said, there will come a time when members will be to bull-headed to get it into their skull. Then, bluntness is acceptable. But please try your hardest to play nice first.

~What to do if you Disagree~ The title says it all, folks. The fact of the matter is that there are some aspects of people's personal beliefs/practices/philosophy that to some people may seem objectionable, disagreeable, or contradictory.
If this happens, as I'm sure it will, ask for clarification. If the clarification confirms your initial response- look at the context of the belief. It might help you understand where the person is coming from.
Though, A lot of these initial issues can possibly be solved by taking a look at your system and realizing that:
1: Your system/beliefs/path/religion, though valid to you, is *NOT UNIVERSAL*. Just because it works for you, that doesn't mean it'll work for everyone.
2: That while we are here to discuss and lightly debate religion/beliefs/paths/ect., that does not mean we are here to judge people that belong to different systems/paths/religions. We are coming together to foster education and understanding, and to become a community.
