Niko had sent his old friend, Zee, to his fiancee for help. The poor former assassin had no idea how to raise a girl, to be honest. Zee's fiancee had four girls of her own, and the dark elf himself? He had one, but she had been so much like a boy in behavior that it was hard to remember that she'd been female.

So Niko, feeling rather proud of himself, and rather unhappy that he'd been made babysitter over all their kids but one, watched as Zee made his way to Tish's door from the car. He sincerely hoped Tish would be able to help Zee; the man was too embarassed to ask his own fiancee, naturally. And of course he hadn't gone to the princess, with the knowledge that if he did, he'd be laughed at for years.

Zee hoisted Leyla up on his shoulders, and knocked on the door. He glanced back at Niko's car for a moment. He had doubts whether the woman could help him, but Niko had been rather insistant.

"We're going to meet a lady?" Leyla asked, looking down at her father with a slight frown. "But what about Mommy?"

"I'll get iiiiiit!" came the loud, joyous cry, accompanied by thundering footsteps as one toddler by the name of Luvenia pounded her way to the door and threw it open, chicken wings a-fluttering as she waved excitedly at the visitors. "Hi! Hi! Hi! I'm Luvvie, you're here to see Mama, right?" she asked, bouncing from bird-foot to bird-foot in her hyperactive happiness.

A resigned-sounding laugh echoed from down the hall as Tish came up behind Luvvie and rested her arms on the bird-toddler's shoulders, making her still her movements and peer up at her mother through wide blue eyes. "That's enough Luvvie, we don't want to scare them off in the first fave minutes, now do we?" she asked, an amused smile crossing her face and lighting her eyes up with a sparkle. Tish gently pulled Luvvie out of the doorway to allow her guests to pass. "Please, come in - and you might want to watch your head - Leyla, wasn't it? You're so tall, you might bump your head on the ceiling!" She suggested with a smile at the tiny girl.

Well... This was awkward. Zee had had the unfortunate fate of meeting someone like Luvenia before; in fact, in a few months, she would quite likely be his step daughter. Of course, Ginger was more interested in other things--ruining proposals was one.

"Hello," he greeted the toddler, silently thanking whatever gods were out there that Leyla wasn't anything like her. "I'm here to see your mother, yes." Luvenia reminded him too much of a certain princess when they were young. Hyper, talkative, a pest--it was most troubling. He gave a relieved smile when Tish came on scene.

Leyla looked up at the ceiling cautiously as her father entered the house. "I won't hit the ceiling," she mused. "Daddy's not near tall enough. He's short." From under her, she could hear her father huff in indigination. It was true, however. Zee was short, measuring at just about 5'5. The infant veered her gaze from Tish to Luvenia, and smiled, revealing two tiny points of white in an otherwise empty mouth. "Luvvie, that's your name? It's pretty. I like you. You belong to Leyla."

The infant paused, and then continued, "I can't walk yet, so we might not be able to play much," she explained. "I can crawl a bit. And I can sit up on my own now."

Luvvie smiled and stood on tippy-toe to try and pat Leyla's foot, but not quite reaching. "May I play with LEyla while you an' Mama talk?" she asked, remembering to say 'may I' instead of 'can I' 'cause Mama said they meant two different things and she needed to remember the difference. Luvvie smiled at Leyla and giggled. "That's okay, miss Leyla! I'll bring stuff to you if you wanna play with it!" she chirped, wings still fluttering in delight.

Tish smiled at Zee and led him into the hall, deliberately ignoring the embarrassing comment about his height that his little daughter had made. "The playroom's down the hall and around the corner - there's some chairs in there if you'd like to talk in there and watch the girls, or there's the living room if you'd rather talk just between us. Believe me, if any room in the house is childproofed, it's that playroom."

Zee looked doubtful for a moment. Dare he trust his precious baby to a wild toddler like Luvvie seemed to be? Leyla whispered something into his ear, and with a nod, he relented. "Alright, you can play with her," he decided. "Be careful though. And come tell us if something happens, alright?"

"If something happens, I'll tell you," Leyla said, petting her father's silvery white hair. "I'll let you know. I'll cry. Don't worry, Daddy! Luvvie and I'll have fun. You'll bring toys to me, Luvvie?"

Zee turned his attention to Tish, and tried to ignore the all too familar protective mode that was struggling to take charge. "I'll let them play in there, then. I'll check on them ocassionally," he added.
