Tokyo's Hollywood???

This is something that crosses my mind everytime I see a Jp film. xd What is Japan's version of America's Hollywood like. Where is it? Bottom line, where are all the stars staying in Japan!? confused

Tokyo, where else!? blaugh Trust me, EVERYTHING is in Tokyo. You know, if you hang out in Tokyo long enough (Shibuya, Shinjuku, Ginza) you can SEE the stars anywhere! Most stars live in Tokyo as well, since most of the big TV studios are there. I heard that the movie industry isn't too hot in Japan, so big movie stars will do a lot of TV work as well, something you'd never see over in America! Could you imagine Julia Roberts on a cooking show?? Or Brad Pitt getting his fortune told on TV by a top fortune teller?? xd

I'm not too good with names (or Japanese faces sweatdrop ) but sometimes my husband would gasp when we were out in the city.. he had seen a celebrity sneak into a subway...

Chances are you will see them getting filmed in the streets even! Lots of celebrities do fun talk shows, which include going to interesting or popular shops and restaurants. I've seen Becky being filmed out in front of the Nakameguro Starbucks once! (Becky is a popular 20yo half-British talent) I also saw the lead singer of Kishidan (sp?) walking into the shinkansen gates! LOL his hair is so much weirder in person!!! xd

If you ever go to Tokyo, watch TV and just remember their faces.. you may see one!

Seems to me that its probably both! xp

Japan is a very different sort of country to America. You can't really compare the two like direct parallels like that, just as you can't with language, I should think. That much is evidenced by the fact that Japanese movie stars have to often be like TV stars on the side, like someone else said.

i think that it would be tokyo it is kind of obvious because that is all i have been hearing about for any special movie that is to come out in Japan
