What if Christ's coming made it so the devil didn't have as much power to manifest meaning that spirits of legend could very well have been demonic manifestiations?

I dun get your question...o.o Are you saying that
Christ comes----> Satan loses power----> Faeries/goblins/other folklore characters are thus evil no matter what kind of lore of a background they had? o.o

Christ comes, Satan lose a lot of his power to manifest, making it possible that a lot of the old spirits of legend like the ankou or that hand with the red clothe or the legend of Lilith could very well be real demonic manifestations which have not had the power to pphysically manifest anymore because Christ came down and lived the perfect life. That's a more detailed description of the theory. Make sense?

Hmm.....That would explain how all those myths came to be, and why nobody believes them anymore. I think that it could very well be true. But then again, it doesn't matter if I believe that or not. All I have to believe is that Jesus is the son of God! 3nodding But you bring up a good point. 3nodding

It could be, but what I've always figured was that with the coming of Christ, the people became more aware of the devil's demonic nature, considering they then had some slight proof of existance of God, finding it easier to believe.
Please note that I'm not saying I need proof, just that that's one of my theories.

Demons are real. The always have been, but the reason they manifested so much in the Gospesls is simple. Jesus was there. Satan wanted to stop God's plan as fast as he could. When he knew Jesus was there, well, of course demons manifested themselves more.
