This was posted December 4, 2005. It is now January 10, 2006. So about a month later. People said I was "spotting" in December. They said I might get it in about a month or so...Well my discharge is a brownish colour...Like a goldish brown..Is this my period? Help!!

Judging from my own experience, that just a color difference in your mucus discharge. The yellowish color (which it might now be a little thicker than watery) can be caused from different substances you eat; You might be dehydrated or your not drinking enough water (like you drink soda, juice, everything but water).

The brownish discharge may be the same thing or it could be the beginning of your period. When I "pre start" I'll have a watery brown discharge which then leads to the next morning to me having my period.

Believe me...it's hard to miss when you have your period...well...for some.

Go see a doctor and ask, or talk to your mom and ask her. 3nodding

I agree with Nikolita. The general rule is that if you are EVER worried about your body, see a doctor. You only get one, so make absolutly sure nothing happens to it.

As for this, it sounds like a period to me. Remember, you are very young. Not everyone gets a full-fledged period right away. Sometimes, your body takes a few months or years to figure out what it wants to do. Having extremely light periods (as you have) at first, or being irregular for the first few years are both very common.
