Always shoot for the Moon... The day was young. The sun sat high in the sky though trees over shadowed the rolling grasses. A breeze blew across the tall grasses lined the edge of the forest alongside the river just before it would give way to a small expanse of plains, that would soon lead to the ocean. The ocean wasn't the destination though. It was time Zhea head home to see his family, Saeran had said him and Riverfaith would always be there. The river that ran along side kept the shaded path cool.
Zhea had recently found that not all parents stay together. It was shocking to find it out to say the least but it was something he was coming to terms with. His cloven hooves clipped against the pebbled bank of the river he walked along. The river was quiet and fish danced through clear as day in the clean river bed. Above head squirrels leapt from one branch to another squeaking in a language their own. Birds sang happy little songs chirping in the tree's that offered a sort of security to budding families. The world was full of life, baskets creeping up from no where young foals popping out and full of life. They were inspiring to see, and very heartening. ...because even if you miss you'll land in the stars.

The air was warm as it rolled off the hills, letting every creature know that summer was in full swing.
Of course, to Aster the warm air felt more like a blast of heat that scorched her skin. The only relief that she could find for the day was wading in the shallow water of the river she had been following. Carrying foals during this time of the year felt like wearing a thousand wolf pelts all over one's body.
As she waded in the water, the young mare began to think that perhaps partaking in this journey now in her state might not have been the best of ideas.
But her being alone in this situation and her foal's father run off got her thinking of her own father. She had heard her mother speak of him when she was younger, but those times were fewer now that she was older. Her mother had moved on and headed off to wherever it really was, leaving her and her four siblings to their own devices. At least she had Cad to keep her company. Of course, he had no choice in the matter either.
The thought of her brother brought a smile to her lips. She had asked him to come along but the stallion was so anti-social that even her pleas and her pointing out that she could possibly get into trouble in her state on this adventure couldn't really sway him.
"Oh well..." She sighed as she watched the braids in her tail float atop the shoulder deep water that she stood in.
At least then she could rub it in her face that she'd met their father. And that made her smile even more. Torturing Cad for whatever reason always made her more light hearted when in a down trodden mood.
Aster hoped soon though that she would at least run into someone who might know of or seen a stallion that could be her father. So far she hadn't come across anyone with some useful information yet.

Always shoot for the Moon... Zheadeos was happy to find his path cool but not too far ahead the river ran from under the tree shade. Zhea sighed slightly discontent, but continued on course. His hope was to make it home before the sun fell from the sky. The moon was plenty of light to travel by but the size was getting smaller and with it the light was lessening. However the days were longer so in confidence he continued along.
Excitement buzzed through Zhea and his pace rose. He was eager knowing what lay ahead of him, his family. The river remained calm as he began to leave the shade over the river. Pebbles tumbles away giving way to a mixture of dirt and mud. His cloven hooves seemed to cut through the mud easily but also allowed his hooves to smoothly leave. He imagined he could calmly walk through the river if the bank was composed of dirt and suck but he would pass. The heat wasn't too bad to bare, or so he thought.
Not far ahead Zheadeos spotted something in the river. It seemed to be moving along the river in the direction he was headed. He figured at his pace he'd likely soon catch up to whatever it was in the water. He could not be sure what it was though. It was a dark color but something light seemed to float behind it. He wasn't moving too much faster then it but soon he could make out more of a form and could tell it was a mare wading through the water.
Zhea found it curious that one would travel in the water but not all distrusted the river bed like him. A mare he;d met had told him he'd need to overcome the fear cause he was a full grown stallion, her words had only minority effected him as he'd tired to avoid the bossy mare in her foul mood to no prevail. He sighed at the thought and went back to the present. Braids floated behind the mare similar to his own small braids only his was on his mane. "Hello." He called after the mare. He was seeming to find traveling mare's alone quiet often as of late. He was not oddly drawn this time to the mare which was a slight relief but his curiosity was peeked. ...because even if you miss you'll land in the stars.

Aster had been in such deep thought that the sound of hooves closing in on where she was never registered in her mind. But the voice that soon shattered the tranquil silence around her, causing the mare to whip her head around in its direction.
Brows eyes focused quickly on it's source. A black faced stallion with a body white as snow. Save for a few spots where he had markings. But what really drew her eye were the horns atop his head and the short deer like tail that he carried. Those at least, indicated to her that he was a Cerynei, or at least part being the case perhaps.
Though it did not surprise her in the least to see him really. Their kind had been popping up all over the place it seemed. She was surprised though, to see him standing there on the edge of the river. So far, she hadn't come across anyone in this area today.
"Hello." She replied with a smile. Her ears moving back and forth before a thought popped into her head.
Moving towards the shallow water, she emerged. Her large, round stomach a lot more visible now that she only stood in knee deep water. "Umm...I hope you don't find this kind of sudden, but I was wondering if perhaps you might know of a Soquili that I'm...kind of looking for?" She hoped at least maybe he'd be able to give her some kind of lead.

Always shoot for the Moon... Zheadeos's eyes widened, he was surprised to find the mare largely round upon emerging further from the water. He tossed his head from one side to another and found no one near as had been the case before he'd seen the mare. Zhea frowned at the fact that the mare was traveling alone, was it common for a Stallion to leave the mare when she was with foal? He certainly did not think so, but it seemed to be proving to be the case.
Zhea scuffed at the ground softly with one of his front hooves, she was looking for a Soquili. "I can try to help you." He nodded his head in a sort of bobbing motion as he though of the few Soquili he'd come across before desiring to return home. He would help her any way he could. "Though I have a question for you. Why are you traveling alone?' ...because even if you miss you'll land in the stars.

A light shone in her eyes as he agreed to at least try to help.
But his question seemed a bit odd to her. Perhaps it was odd to him that she was indeed alone. Especially in her state. But Aster was no push over. Or at least she liked to think she wasn't. The mare believed in self-reliance.
Her lips pursed. "Mmmm, well..." Eyes fluttered skyward as if she was searching for the answer on the inside of her eyelids. "My brother didn't really want to come along. He's quite anti-social and my quest would require him to interact with others...as for my other two siblings I wouldn't know where to find them exactly. I believe one might be with my father...who is the Soquili I am looking for."
A small kick in her stomach caused Aster to flinch for just a second as she ground her teeth together. "And before you ask where the father of my foals are, he's off wandering about who knows where really." She turned her head, as if looking about expecting for someone to come crashing through the brush and into the little clearing on the shore bank. "That's part of the reason why I am traveling..."

Always shoot for the Moon... A soft frown tugged at his mouth as she explained her family. An Anti Social family member wasn't something Zhea knew much about, sure his father was at times distant but not anti-social, least where he was concerned. Here again was a mare that was missing a part of the family, only she was one of the children. "I'm sorry you have to set out to find your father." It saddened Zhea deeply that there were fathers that would leave, good reason or not.
He watched as she winced and spoke of her own foal's father doing the same as her own father had once. "Well I shall help you as best I can." He eyed the brush behind her to see what might have caught her attention or caused her to turn but he saw nothing. "Do you know the name of who your looking for? Or perhaps what they look like?" Zhea's ears flicked back and then forward again as a fly buzzed by his ear. ...because even if you miss you'll land in the stars.
