So as most of you know i made clarinet section leader for this omcing year.

So far this summer we have had a few student staff meetings to discuss next year, since we are getting a new director and need to plan for anything and everythng. Well, ive been to all of these meetings, and have tried to put input into them. However, nobody listens to me.

The main problem i think is that they have all been friends for a while. except me. I know them well, but i do not hang out with them as much as they hang out with each other. I'm the only one thats been going to the meetings that is not in this circle of friends.

So they are always having conversations and im never involved. Then when we get to actual meeting, whenever i try to give input they ignore me, interupt me, or change the subject. I can tell its not on purpose...at least i dont think it is...but it makes mefeel really outcasted. I don't know what to do...

I really want to give input at the meetings. I don't like being outcasted like i am. Its like they dont want me there...

So can anyone help me? Anyone know how i can get them to stop pushing me out of the meetings?

You could try talking to one of them - whichever person of this group you feel most comfortable talking to. Explain to him or her that you feel left out, and would like to make your own inputs without everyone acting like best friends but you.

Don't always be polite and pushed away, either. Don't come off as a jerk, of course, but try to push your input a little bit. Catch their attention.

Good luck with the rest of your meetings. :]

Our student staff often communicates through email. Have you tried anything like that?

Otherwise, I agree with Pika.
