She had pulled back from the main group of refugees some time ago, walking in stolid silence as she observed the chatter and the high walls ahead. Big walls meant bigger dangers, and the area was sure to be crawling with Suits, but it was the only option they had, the closest and safest thing to call home. Even so, it was an old place, and an evil one at that: the stalks that wiggled their way free of the earth following her footsteps were weak and deformed, as maimed as the soil they grew from. Even divine inspiration could not simply wish away the scars of nuclear war, it seemed.
There was another that seemed to lag behind, a wing-eared lad and his consort. He was young, to be sure, but he had been appointed the new scorekeeper of the Game by laws older than he would ever be, and it was about time that he learned everything that it entailed. A gentle murmur and a touch on the arm, and Des faithfully walked to Seth's side, helping him with the burden the sleeping young woman appeared to be to the newly-anointed god. Persy waited until her husband and his cargo were both out of earshot, and then she angled her steps towards the boy, looking him over cautiously.
"Anubis has left you with quite the responsibility," Persy said curtly, looking out into the distance. "Are you sure that you're ready?"

Weak as he was Seth was more than happy to accept any help he could carrying Edith. He gave a sigh of relief once she was removed from his shoulders. For once Seth was glad normal people feel asleep in close contact with him.
"Hmph yeah he did..." Seth didn't look at Percy, he was busy stretching his shoulders. Godly powers or not he was still frail as ever.
"...I suppose your going to tell me all about what I already signed up for?" He sighed again, there wasn't much for it, he wasn't going to die any time soon anyway...

"Well, you might as well know what you're in for," Persy said, her tone slightly jagged. She could already tell that her new partner for keeping order in the Game paled in comparison to Anubis, and already she missed the elder god's company.
"There are many Players in the Game," she began, referencing the group up ahead, "And now that we're in a bigger city, there are bound to be more that come out of the woodwork. As scorekeeper, it's your job to know about every. Single. One." Persy paused, for emphasis. "Their names, their gods, what they can do, where they live, who they hang out with...the more you know, the better." She glanced back at the boy, who didn't seem the type to know much about spying on others. Persy imagined that for the first two months, she would be running both referee and scorekeeper positions while she got this boy up to speed, and it was not a thought she particularly relished.
"It doesn't matter how you get the information, but I found it useful to open up an informations trade." She glanced down at an old, faded bracelet made of plastic beads. "You'd be surprised what sort of snooping around others can do for you. And, looking at your girlfriend, I'm sure that there's something you can offer them in return. I imagine there are a few godlings who have trouble going to sleep at night, knowing what they've done." The statement pursed her lips into a grim expression, and for a moment, she almost appeared in pain, but it passed soon enough, and then she was silent again, quietly walking towards Central.

"I suppose I have nothing but time now"
Seth didn't worry too much about the whole keeping godlings details on some kind of record. More so, the fact that Seth barely knew any of that before, and really never had much inclination to. He remember when trying to get information on Vale, and how what little he'd gotten had come in vague trickles. really even now he barely knew a good deal of those he had just shared a boat trip with.
"Hmph...at least I have some head start here..."
Another sigh, he'd never cared about most people, this was going to get irritating if that was his job now. Considering how odd most of them looked they where going to make it any easier.
"Maybe..." He rolled his eyes looking away. "...plenty of stoners like it anyway..."
"...It's not my girlfriend, sort of, it's complicated" He knew it was cruel, but, he didn't have heart to speak of.

"Again, it doesn't matter how you get the information, just so long as you have it," Persy repeated, looking at him once again. "You can bribe mortals, you can dig through the sewers on your own time if you have the inclination, but either way, it has to be done. I think a couple of years of duty is a small price to pay for godhood."
The goddess stared at her new business partner, trying to assess his opinion of the whole situation (she refused to believe that he was actually as apathetic as his face suggested). "Speaking of which, do you feel any different? For some, immortality is an instant change, but for others it's more gradual and you hardly ever notice." It felt strange, to be giving the pep talk she had prepared for Fish to some other godling, a familiar face but an unfriendly one all the same. Persy couldn't help but crinkle her nose: no, this left a horrible taste in her mouth, and she decided that Anubis would have to give the speech from now on--
--oh, wait, he couldn't. Persy's scowl deepened, and she began to think of a new plan, slowly beginning to discount Seth at her side.

"Yeah..." The prospect of being alive for longer than he could imagine, coupled with the inability to sleep the vast majority of the time weighed heavily on him. At the very least he was going to have a lot to do now.
"If I'm going to be a god now too I won't have to bother with father" Be put a disdainful emphasis on that last part.
"Different? Not really, I still still cold, but I've been like that since Vale killed me. Unless that's what immortality is supposed to feel like" The mention made him shiver, regardless of what clothing he wore he still felt cold to the core.
"Actually..." He started hesitantly, Percy didn't seem like she was in the best of moods, but this was important. "Things started coming back to me on the way here....things I forgot" He stared at the ground. "Like when I first met you...at least I remember my parents faces now..."

The thought of gods reclaiming their memories made Persy pause for a moment, the rhythm of her steps faltering as her eyes widened. But again, the moment passed, and she shook her head, continuing alongside Seth with an expression a shade darker than the one she'd worn before.
"I don't imagine you'll ever feel warm again without your heart," muttered Persy plainly, "Not unless you got it back somehow. Other than that...well, it varies from god to god." Having said that, she continued down her path in silence, continuing to brood with a purse-lipped expression. Finally, and after a good bit of thought, she focused back on Seth.
"Are you sure you can handle this? We can't get rid of your godhood, and no one's going to blame you if Anubis handed you something you can't manage." That was a lie: Persy would blame him, and blame him for millenia, but she would rather have someone competent on her team than someone who didn't want the job. This was her way, if anything, of offering him a way out.

Lethe did its work well, up until now Seth was completely unable to remember anything beyond waking up in Hypnos sleepy realm. But it still clung to the details, Seth only have vague recollections of his childhood. Maybe things would keep coming back as his ascent to godhood grew.
"Didn't think so" Seth rubbed his arms together in some vain attempt to feel something. "Vale ate it, and my original body is probably long gone with the city". Anubis never specified it had to be his though, someone else could give him theirs. And there was only one person who'd do that. Edith.
"I think so, father always said I was special, I should live up to that, and I'd rather not have to rely on my other father"

Persy looked at Seth for a moment, evaluating the look in his eyes carefully, and then finally she nodded. "Good. Everyone will be expecting much from you."
And now came the difficult part, because the boy standing beside her still wasn't Fish, no matter how she tried to slice it. Nevertheless, he was still the youngest god, and he would still need guidance in the years to come. Even granted with immortality, the world was still a dangerous place, and Persy knew that she would have been grateful for a helping hand a couple millenia ago.
"...If you ever need anything," she said softly, her expression tightening in grief, "...Let me know. It's an odd thing to adjust to, divinity, and...you're practically family." This part seemed to pain her the most, and afterwards, she withdrew a few steps further away, looking out into the distance. "Just let me know," she said, and then the Queen of the Underworld was silent, lost to her thoughts.

Seth looked out to the group in front of them, putting together in his mind the few ones he knew, even from that meagre hand full he could think of some that where probably going to cause a out of trouble. There was always memory wiping, but with this many of them he couldn't exactly go round giving half the people in the city amnesia.
"I'll say" He said, not so much talking to Percy as muttering to himself.
Family? Seth wasn't sure what to make of that, truly no one he'd known for years now could be called family. Though, as oft-emotionless as he was, he could see Percy was uncomfortable about that. Really about everything at this point.
"O-okay" Now feeling uncomfortable from Percys own distancing. "Urrr..." It was only more awkward to asking for something in this situation. "...I'll need a place to stay....just follow the others?"
