I decided to make a thread for in character updates which don't fit neatly into any thread or category. If an update goes on in here you really should read it! It's most likely important or will give you information you might need for current roleplays.
Alyosha.

The sound of thrumming came from overhead. A thick WHUMPWHUMPWHUMP sound, followed by a breeze as the 4 large, olive-green helicopters made their way almost ponderously over the Islands. Between the helicopets was suspended a large metal container which was slowly, gently, lowered down onto the beach. Clips were unhooked, winches released and the helicopters moved off a little way to land just down the beach.
Alyosha had walked out to meet the helicopters and stood watching as several uniformed men came towards him as well as one prim-looking japanese man. He and Alyosha exchanged quick pleasantries and Alyosha confirmed that things were not as bad as might have been expected.
The University had sent out this team as soon as they could and the box contained what would be needed for rebuilding and the like. There was new satellite equipment to replace that which had been lost and there was a large supply of rations for both Islands.
A preliminary report on the new geology of the Islands had been prepared too and Alyosha tucked this under his arm. Whilst the new equipment was being fitted, Alyosha invited the man for some tea to discuss some other urgent matters.
---- o ----
The men had surveyed the houses and found that most, with the efforts of their owners, were structurally sound. Half of them had departed on one of the large, dual-propellered helicopters for Ar'Idil and were doing the same there.
Another group which arrived with the helicopters was a group of archaeologists. They had, thank goodness, been on an extended break for quite some time but had decided to come back to see if their site was still useable. They'd be staying on, apparently, in order to try and find some more relics.
---- o ----
As they left, late in the evening, Alyosha watched them go. A hectic day, yes, but a lot had been resolved. He had given them, too, the small list of requests which had been left by various owners. Things which had been broken or suchlike. The visitors had left, he felt, with a sense of relief that everyone was safe. They had been unable to communicate with the Islands and had expected the worst - their satellite imagery not being quite good enough to spot the forms of fast, small, humans.
Now, he just had to vgo and find Acia and have her confirm this report...

Acia had finally found Alyosha after the disaster and the two had spent a good deal of time huggin each other closely and saying nothing. To Alyosha, she really was his child and Acia had never had any other father.
She pondered this as her light wings took her towards the new piece of land between the Islands. She also thought, shudderingly, of the terrible shrieks of the earth as it birthed fire and, it appeared, sand. He tail flicked slightly, balancing her as she came to land, her feet crunching into the soft sand.
She held out her staff, concentrating her focus on it. Staffs were certainly not neccessary items for spellweaving but could help concentration when a lot was going on around the spellweaver.
She let her energy flow into the staff and directed it down the shaft, into the ground. The thin tendrils of her power flowed out over the sandbar.
---- o ----
A few hours later she returned to the Centre and confirmed that the sattellite mages and reports had been, indeed, correct. The sandbar was safe! There was now an extra Island's worth of space and deliveries would be made that little bit more easily. Acia hadn't wanted to disturb the balance of the new land and so had not attempted to bring better soil to it. she told Alyosha, though, that if some native sand grasses were brought in to populate it the land might be habitable in the near future.
---- o ----
Acia watched as Alyosha placed a radio message to Anthony and told him to inform the Islanders. A notice would be put up in the Centre and the Lodge to inform people that they may cross between Islands. Apparently a few of the Ar'Idil guardians had been keen to do this.

Acia's dream had seemed simple to her and so she had rushed to tell the others - the wisp stage was a perilous one, the form should truly have been brought back into a material form as quickly as possible. Acia;s first visit had been to Anthony, telling him the news just before he left. Second, she had informed Alyosha who had quickly set into motion rules regarding the handing of this matter.
Henceforth all Aerandir would have their time as wisps reduced to mere moments and lists would be distributed before bonded items. Acia chided herself that she had not understood this way of things before. She herself had been the only one of the first three to have stayed in a wisp stage until all necessary items had been there. Being a spellweaver this was perhaps understandable but the risks the godesses had impressed upon her sleeping mind were dire. She shivered thinking of what might have been.

Ahhh! I don't know what to do! The pale haired, tawny furred female Aerandir sat in her room, contemplating the situation. Things had gone slightly awry and it was in her nature to worry about said things. Anthony had gone back home, Alyosha had gone to help out on Cetalu. Simple and understandable enough. Except that Acia had meant to talk to Alyosha about the whole ' two new gryphons on their way' thing.
She sighed, looking at her nails. She had begun biting them again, a habit she thought she'd broken once she'd grown past childhood. The stubby nails seemed to look back at her bleakly, accusingly. As much a she might have kept secrets from her human guardian she did not feel that it was right not to tell him to expect the new gryphons, especially when provision would have to be made for them.
The main problem she had was that she expected him to be displeased. She had seen Alyosha displeased before and didn't care to do so again. Though he had never been angry at her, she had seen what happened when others had pushed him a little far. Acia's earlier ebullience over the matter of Aerandir solidarity and right to choose when their own kind should 'reproduce' was replaced by a worrying gnawing in her stomach. "Humans!" he exclaimed, loudly, her inner self annoyed that she felt suddenly so constricted by their actions.
