Take my hand,
Come with me,
And I'll show you a land,
Devoid of glee.
Magic is lost,
Erased from the mind,
For that is the cost,
Of leaving dreams behind.
Look about
And you shall see,
Nothing but doubt,
And not a single true tree.
Animals are stuck,
In cages of steel,
To avoid the hassle and muck,
Of catching a meal.
Skyscrapers tall,
Cover the view,
And the abscence of a concrete wall,
Belongs only to the wealthy few.
Books with tales of magic,
Were burned in each square,
To see it was tragic,
As not a single story did they spare.
A smile is rare,
Kindness lost to lore,
As few can spare,
Hapiness anymore.
Now grab my hand,
Hold on tight,
And I'll show you a land,
Where magic and hope won the fight.
Children play in the street,
And laughter rings out,
Science was beat,
But still hangs about.
To keep us well,
And soothe some fears,
However it'll never sell,
Things like government issue electrified tears.
Though magic isn't seen,
Each person has hope.
And no suffers a year that's lean,
Or merely has to cope.
So hold magic in your heart,
But don't make it your only outlook.
Although science and magic lay a world apart,
For each you should have at least one book.
