for me anime is interesting because of some of its creative themes.

I just always prefered 2D as far as I remember, it's so much work to do 2D animation and I even saw how much by studying in that domain (I think Walt Disney was better when it was 2D)
it do not take me long to realize that pretty much any cartoon I watched in my youth were in fact, old animes. Today, animes are now the only good 2D we can still found, american cartoon being random with nonsense...and even, if an american cartoon make sense and actually look good, it's probably based on an anime or copied the anime style.

It's hard to say really.....One of the reasons I like it is because the way their expressions are on their faces when their shocked,happy, and mad. It's funny sometimes how their eyes vibrate also.

I love the drawings and emotions they convey. They expand on serious themes and dramas. I also love chibi moments.

Because when done correctly, it can explore a topic that people are unwilling to film or that can not be filmed under today's tech.

The art,and its ability the variety. The things that can be done in anime is endless. Lots of room for imagination.

I agree with the reasons anime_mimic gave. American cartoons have no ultimate point and are utter nonsense. Anime/ manga have unique stories that American cartoons could and have never muster. Also, anime and manga have a much larger variety of genres. You never see an American cartoon that's solely about romance, for example. The art is usually beautiful and the expressions used to convey expressions are so capturing. Anime and manga are just interesting in every aspect. 3nodding

Everything from the art work to the story line. Action, gory, romance, heart felt, even the old classic that never been seen anymore are the most interesting things about anime since anime goes way back in the back. Even manga.

I think that anime is interesting because it brings characters from paper to life. (In a way that its better than cartoons) The action, feelings, expressions and characters are more easily understood than when they are down on paper. Anime is also interesting because there are many different genres to explore. (as Neko_animeavenger mentioned).
