 The wind in the trees meshed with the sound of distant running water as Freckles sat at the edge of the meadow quietly listening to the sounds of his beautiful home. He lay down in the soft grass, the tips tickling his nose. He could hear the sounds of kits at play, rising from the other side of the hill. There was nothing cuter then children at play, though Freckles was never one to partake much.
The musty smell of birch surrounded him as a mellow breeze swept over him, ruffled his fur, and was gone. He sighed contentedly, such a beautiful day it was.

 She steadied her grip as the wind blew through the trees. Rather than nap on the soft grass, Julmunui was resting won top of the lower branches of the trees. She preferred it there since other foxes rarely bothered her or asked her questions. She was rather scared of contact really, always afraid to make any social blunders.
She saw other foxes playing in the meadow, and a grey fox resting in the shade beneath her. Isolated, she knew that he must have been someone like her. Julmunui rested her head against the bark once more and relaxed her muscles. Suddenly another breeze rushed through the trees; a small "Oh no!" was heard from the young fox as she tumbled a few feet to the ground, landing on the soft over grown grass. She slowly stood up with soft groans. While it didn't necessarily hurt, Julmunui was rather embarrassed and shocked that she fell at all.

Freck had just began to doze off as another gust of wind began to blow.. carrying on it a loud "oh no" Sleepily he lifted his head, just as a loud thump occurred behind him.
He jumped up, out of sheer surprise of the sudden noise and looked around. just behind him an almost mature white female was lifting herself off the ground,
(his face looks something like this) ---> O_o
"Are.. are you alright? Your not hurt?" He asked quickly, then not waiting for a response he quickly looked her over. "You look good." Then realizing the way he said it he corrected himself. "I-Imeanyoulookunhurt" He said quickly, jumbling his words together and becoming red in the face.

Giving another soft groan, Julmunui looked towards the adult fox. She couldn't believe someone saw her fall, how embarrassing! Looking at her front paws Julmunui spoke to the freckled fox: "Ohh... oh, I'm okay... Thank you for worrying."
She realized she hasn't spoken to another fox for a long time. Her words went through a great deal of resistance to get out of her mouth. Hearing his short reply, "You look good," Julmunui flustered as she quickly misunderstood the other fox. She looked up to gaze at his expression and saw him heavily blushed. He quickly corrected himself, and Julmunui felt her heart sink.
She may not have known this fox or even formed an opinion of him, but the words had impact on the naive girl. "Yes.... I'm not hurt." Carrying an embarrassed and slightly pained expression, she moved to leave once again climbing the tree to escape from the awkward situation.

"uhhh..." Freckles paused. Realizing the situation was becoming MORE awkward then when it began. "uh... M-myname'sFreckles." He said quickly, stumbling all over his words.
He hadn't had a decent conversation with anyone in so long, and he always set himself off, but he was a bit lonely and longed for some conversation... "Uh.. i hope i didn't say something wrong." he said quietly, looking at her expression. And secretly trying to keep her around. He didn't really want to stop talking to her, for some reason.

Looking back at Freckle, she responded to his greeting, "Oh... My name is Julmunui. If you can remember it, you can call me Jay..." Between sentences she would pause to think about what to say. "No... You did nothing wrong. Do not worry."
He was rather polite, Freckle. He didn't seem as hyper and confronting as the other foxes that lived around them. She was kind of fond of him, really, despite how awkward it was between the two of them. Neither seemed to be experienced in conversation.

Freckles looked the young fox over and smiled gently at her. "Your name, it means stripes right? And i'll remember your name." Then quieter, more shyly he continued blushing madly, "Julmunui has a rather beautiful ring to it." He paused mauling over his words and thoughts...
Shes so quiet and polite he thought to himself. She seems as horrible at conversation as myself he thought, smiling inwardly to himself.
"I don't suppose you'd like to share lunch with me?" He asked, "I have no idea why, but i brought 2 meat hunks along..." He trailed off.

Julmunui looked up at Freckles in shock. Not many foxes new what her name meant because of it's origins. The hair raised on her neck as she heard Freckle compliment. "Th- thank you! I'm glad you like my name. I don't want to bother you while you have a meal though..."

"Oh, it's no bother." He said, "Really, i'd love if you'd join me."
Freckles grinned foolishly as he tried to remain calm around the cute female. He never was good at speaking to people, but for some odd reason, Freckles felt at peace with Julmunui, maybe because she was so calm herself.
Freckles went over to a spot by the tree and took a small brown bag between his teeth. "Awl I Habe ish Turkeh" He tried to say with the bag in his teeth. Blushing as he realized hoe stupid he sounded.

"I... I suppose I'll keep you company then." She looked towards him and followed him as he picked up the meat carcass. Seeing him talk with a shut mouth made Julmunui hesitate. Freckle was rather weird- actually similar to the other foxes that often played around in the meadow. Or maybe he was just nervous; his tone of voice was similar to Julmunui's—weak and limp.
"I don't mind the food. I shouldn't complain since you're treating me after all. Thank you for the meal." Julmunui looked up, the sun was shining and the other foxes were now heading to the cover of the trees on the opposite side of the meadow towards the shade. Now alone with only Freckle in eye distance, she fidgeted as she had never been alone with a male, or even an adult.

Freckles watched her fidget, and it made him fidget too. "I hope you like it," he mumbled nervously. Freck looked out over the meadow and noticed she was watching the young foxes as well. He looked toward her meekly "Way isn't a young fox like yourself out having a good time as well?" He mumbled, shifting his weight nervously. "I-I don't mean to intrude." He added, "Just curious..." He trailed off meekly. He paused and listened to the wind through the trees again... "I do love the quiet," He sighed to nobody inparticular.

She stopped fidgeting as soon as she saw Freckle doing the same. It was rather amusing, and after listening to Freckle speak after passing her a portion of the turkey she giggled. " 'Way isn't?' Don't you mean 'Why aren't'?" She smiled a little as she saw the older fox stumble with his words. He had been doing it for quest some time now. She looked down to the meat before her, and readied for a bite before she spoke. "I'm not too familiar with those foxes. We don't always get along. I don't... really know how to react around them."
She felt the breeze run through her short fur and she closed her eyes to the sensuous feeling. As Freckle spoke Julmunui opened her eyes and looked towards him and smiled slightly. "I prefer the silence too. Another reason why I rarely get along with the young foxes that are my age." She looked down and bit off a piece of meat and chewed. "Are you going to eat, Freckle?"

Freckles blushed at his tongue tied behavior. "I-I.. Yeah." He mumbled and blushed. "Why aren't..." He repeated quietly.
"I-I do not blame you Julmunui. The younger foxes, and even the older ones, they are much too rambunctious for my tastes. I prefer to listen to the laughter and watch the games." He shook his head.
"Mmm yeah, I suppose so." Freckles looked down at the carcass and took a bite.

Julmunui ate in silence as she listened to Freckle speak. She chewed carefully as she thought about his reply to her.
"I'm honestly never around these other foxes either, even at a distance. Today adoptive mother always nudges me to go out to these social play dates." She looked toward the meadow as she talked with an empty and uncaring tone. "I like bird watching. And watching the fish at Big Fish Cove."
