Hazelkit crept in through her secret passage that leads to the forest. Nobody saw her come in, so she smiled. She wasn't tired considering she had slept when she was out with Wavekit from ThunderClan. At the moment, she realized how lonely and empty the nursery here is compared to the nursery in ThunderClan. To pass time by in the early dawn, Hazelkit drew in the sand with her tiny claws.

Two days ago, she had been in the ThunderClan nursery and then met Wavekit during the night. Hazelkit never had friends in ShadowClan, and didn't even think she wanted ShadowClan friends. In order to one day become leader, I must gain the trust of every cat in the Clan! She told herself repeatedly. The images of her new friends kept coming in and out of her mind. Wavekit however, stayed in her mind. The young tom-kit's voice kept playing in her mind. The nursery was very quiet and empty which made it creepy to be in. Hazelkit groomed herself without making a sound and then crept out of the nursery and into the big clearing. It was nothing compared to the territory she had secretly seen. The truth was, Hazelkit was always so bored and lonely that she went over to the stream each night and never got caught. And now that she had been to ThunderClan, life was even worse for her. Worse without Wavekit.

Hazelkit jumped up. "A friend," she said softly. "It's so lonely being the only one in the nursery! I need someone to talk to and play with... Can't I move into another den for now?" She asked.

" That's one thing that I can't do Hazelkit. Goldenheart replied, he licked Hazelkits ear to comfort her and backed out of the den.

Hazelkit sighed. She put her head on the wall of the den and ran her paw down it. She sat down, leaning against the den wall, and began to groom herself. She then started to draw on the ground again. She drew her and Wavekit inside of a heart. Only their heads and chests showed and they were blocking some of the heart. In the picture, the two kits were all grown up and without a care in the world. She sighed as she then drew a full-body picture of Wavekit. She drew and drew until she took a break and realized she was starving. The kit jumped up and trotted into the clearing to eat.

Hazelkit shot awake with excitement. "I'm gonna be an apprentice soon!" She squeaked. She shot out of the den and then thought of Wavekit. When will he become an apprentice? She silently asked herself.
