I came upon this randomly, thought it would be interesting to post.

It makes you wonder though, how long will it take for mainstream media to metaphorically come to its last straw and report the news as it is before hyping it up so it appears nonchalant.

Interesting articles. Though I'm not so sure about the gulf one.
I asked my stepdad (who works on an oil rig) about Benzene, and he said that it disperses really easily, and is only dangerous if you're within two inches of the pipes.
