How are some ways to change the subject in Japanese (both in speaking and writing) like...

"Mhm. This pizza looks good. Anyways! How was the concert last night?"

How about...

"They argued for ages. However, that is not the problem here..."

It just doesn't feel right saying "demo"...

And... "by the way" is "tokoro de" right?

For "anyways" in that context I generally use とにかく.

As for "however" there are other conjunctions besides でも you can use; there's also しかし, which is the same kind of "however", or ただ which is sort of a "nevertheless" or you might consider それより, which would be more like "apart from that". There are other "but"-like conjunctions, such as が or けど but they're more distinctly contrastive -- the meaning you're trying to avoid. In your specific example, though, I think でも is actually the word you're looking for -- it's actually the LEAST contrastive of the lot.

And yes, ところで is "by the way".
