It had been some time since Adriel had gone to the park. Even longer since he had been there with his children. He held his little girls hand as they walked along her toddling along a wand in her hand. She was waving 'magic wand' around smacking things with it a bit on the violent side though it seemed to be more an over enthusiasm than her just being violent. Her one tentacle covered in eyes was half lidded as they walked, perhaps dirt was getting into its eyes?
"Mama!" Tia chirped as they came upon the swings and playground equipment. "Play in sand!" she stated pointing to the sand box and was trying to shake her hand out of her parents grasp.
Adriel sighed and rubbed the back of his head with his free hand, his own tentacle arms Chi and Fuu were acting worried about Tia's safety though Adriel only released his daughters hand so he could sit on the bench that was close by.
"Go ahead Tia. I'll watch." He stated with a small smile. The girl of course had already clambered up into the sand pit and sat down. Adriel winced. There was going to be a lot of sand dragged home.
"Goan play in the sugar." He told Thae proudly, stomping his way to the sand pit in the heavy and unstable footsteps of a toddler.
"It's not sugar. It's sand." Thae told him for the millionth time, sighing and pinching the bridge of her nose.
"Browhn Sugar!" Erich keened out happily, too busy crawling into the sand pit to notice or care that he had been corrected, or that anyone else was there with them. Just before he made it into the pit he tripped and fell in instead, doing a bit of a somersault before landing on his back in front of the girl, his crooked tail hitting the sand so hard it puffed up everywhere. It took a moment, but once he got over the initial shock of the fall, he started to glow brightly, giggling and clapping his hands above him.
"Again, again!" His cackling stopped when he noticed the little girl, staring at her with big eyes. "HI." He shouted happily, waving enthusiastically at her. "Playin' in d'sugar too?"
Tia was just as observant as the clumsy child that suddenly flattened the small mount she had been trying to build up. She blinked at him leaning in wondering if he was dead since he wasn't moving until he glowed brightly and then clapped his hands together. She reared back to avoid the smacking of hands.
"....Sui..ga?" She repeated looking to him confused, she looked down at the stuff she was playing in. "This...suga?" She asked taking a hand ful of it and letting it fall out of her small fingers. Her tentacle, lazily rose up to literally eye the small boy before them. It was a creepy appendage..with its many eyes.
"Soogah!" He enunciated for her, once more cackling like the little maniac it was. "Browhn Soogah~" He repeated, rolling from side to side to get himself good and covered in sand before sitting back up, wiggling to make himself comfortable.
"It's SAND." Thae repeated from the side lines, having come a little closer to the sand pit. As usual, Erich ignored her attempts to correct his odd way of naming things after food or food ingredients. "I'm sorry, he just won't change his mind..." She sighed to the odd looking fellow; the girl's parent she figured.
Meanwhile, Erich was leaning in very close to the little girl, glowing happily and staring at her and her funny tentacle. "You's Jam." He commented happily, tilting his head this way and that, making his strange mane from from one side to the other. "Licorice Jam" He corrected, noticing the tentacle a little more; all tentacles were apparently called Licorice. Sigh. "M'Ewich!"
Tia wasn't really sure what to make of him. In truth she was poorly socialized beyond her older brother and her two dads. She blinked at him with wide eyes before she looked back down at the sand. "Suu..ga..." She tried to mimick the way he spoke it but it came out wrong. THe small girl looked up when she heard the woman speak and then she looked to Erich again. She giggled, did he just call her Jam? Licorice jam?
"Twia." she spoke pointing to herself she looked to her tentacle and then giggled again she pointed at Erich quite interested in the fact that he was glowing. "E.wich like night wight." She stated.
Adriel looked up as the woman Thae came over to correct her over ambitious child. Yes he didn't need Tia thinking the sand was edible. He gave her a smile as their children conversed.
"Hello..I am Adriel." he introduced himself, though Chii was worrying over the children playing Fuu came right over to stroke the woman's leg. Adriel gave it a firm smack as if telling it to behave.
"Twia." He murmured back, leaning his head to the side. Twia the Licorice Jam. Sounded fun! Grinning lopsidedly, he nodded. Night light! He was a night light, yes! "Yesh! Ah can do this, see see?" Erich said eagerly, dimming and brightening the lures on his ears and tail. A few dims and brights later, he leaned to the side to stare at her tentacle-eyes, waggling a finger in front of it. "Can'ya see through theeeese?" He asked, honestly curious about it. Thae waved at the man, jolting out of surprise but curiously staring down at the tentacle that brushed her leg. What was it doing? With curious wonder evident in her gaze, she watched him smack the friendly tentacle, then tilted her head to look at his face. "Was it doing something wrong?"
Adriel gave her an apologetic smile, "No, but sometimes Fuu can get a bit...too friendly." He explained and though Fuu retreated it looked still interested in going near her as if eagerly waiting permission to touch her again.
"Why don't you join me?" He asked scooting over on the bench so she could sit.
Tia tilted her head to the side and looked to her tentacle. It had eyes....could she see through them? Uh... she shrugged. "I unno..." She responded though was keenly interested in how he brightened and dimmed. "Nia light nai light!" She chirped clapping her hands together again. "How do?" She asked tugging on an ear lure.
"Too Friendly? Isn't that good, though?" Anethae inquired, nodding and moving to sit down beside the man, giving him a modest amount of room. She was honestly intrigued by his tentacle, the one that was too friendly and that somehow made it bad. "Hmm..." Pondering over it, she watched the 'offending' tentacle, then realized something. "Oh! My name is Anethae...and that is Erich. It is nice to meet you."
Erich whimpered a bit when she tugged on a lure, shaking his head a bit like it kind of hurt. His glow had faded for a moment, but it came right back into full swing. "I'unno! Just do." Puffing out his cheeks, he reached over and covered the eyes on her face with one hand, or at least tried to, and held up three fingers to one of the eyes on the tentacle.
"How many?" He inquired, as a test.
