Do you consider graphic novels to be novels or to be comic books?

Um...they're graphic novels. Novels with graphics...pictures. I suppose they are intelligent comics. Novel-comics??? That's just what I think..

A novel is simply a story in a book form. Subsequently, 'Graphic-Novel'. I'm not too fond of them as it takes away the fun of imagining the action as it gives you the scenery and characters on a plate.

Huh, I think of them as just long comic books.

I don't really read American graphic novels, I just read manga so in my mind they are just a section of thier own, no need to worry about compartmentalizing. However I would put them closer to a novel than a comic because they tend to much more in depth and generate more feeling and a sense of genuine plot with potential for something more.

Not really? sweatdrop They aren't true, traditional novels. I think they are more like comic books, just longer.
And there's nothing wrong with a comic book/manga. wink

I've always thought of them as comics. It's because the majority of the book are graphics rather than writing, so...
