Jianyu arched one dark eyebrow at the youth's response.
"An apology would do very nicely, yes." he said lightly. "Although I must admit, I had not expected one such as yourself to give one, so I am wary of the idea that you actually would do it."
Jianyu's fingers tightened ever so slightly around the boy's shirt collar and stepping forward, Jianyu pushed the youth up against the wall of the barn, holding him there so that he couldn't move. If there was anything that could make Jianyu irritated (other than that moronic Bataar, although Bataar was almost never not irritating; it was just a fact of life with the Mongol) was someone such as this young man thinking they could outsmart him, strip him of his dignity. It had happened before, with that Kiran. Kiran had also tried to steal from him, and had been unsuccessful. Jianyu's eyebrows drew together in a dark glare as he stared down at the boy in front of him.
"Do not mock me again." he hissed, and let go, dropping the youth to the ground. Stepping over him, Jianyu gathered up his bags of grain, turning around to look back at the young man.
"What is your name?" he asked. "So that I may know not to look for you."

"Oof!" The sound escaped him as he was pressed tightly against the wall. The fighter had been right about the apology; Cais didn't feel he owed him one. If he had given one it would to get out of being shot with an arrow, not to be sincere.
Cais glared back to him, feeling the pressure against his collar increase as he was confronted with the fierce eyes of the fighter staring him down. The vulnerable position infuriated Cais, but there was nothing to be done. Before he could shout at the fighter to release him he suddenly fell to the ground. Leaning against the wall, he heard a dark hiss and another warning, far sharper than the first. Warily he looked up to the fighter standing over him. His mouth stuck, only taking note of the fighter's piercing eyes. Grunting away the fear he stood slowly, wiping dust from his outfit.
He wasn't entirely sure what the fighter meant, but he was already tired of the situation. Not to mention there was a nagging at the back of his head that the fighter would surely make quick work of him if left the opportunity. "Cais." He put simply, then glanced back to him. "I'd like to know yours too, so I know who to avoid." It was blunt, but the truth. Cais could go an entire lifetime without seeing him again, that much he knew.

The youth standing a few feet away from him was not by any means tall. His body was short in stature, with a slender, boyish face and a thin frame. But his eyes were fierce and years beyond his age in their determination and anger. If Jianyu had not been so irritated, he might have been impressed by the boy's obvious disdain for him, and the blatant disapproval. But the youth had done enough already to have any sort of that thought wiped from Jianyu's mind. He gave a small snort of disgust, shaking his head.
"Cais," he said, and the name tasted sour on his tongue. "My name is Qián Jianyu, and I am a loyal follower of the Legion. If we meet again, I will be sure to stick an arrow through your stomach, Noble."
Not bothering to wait for a response, Jianyu turned on his heel and walked out. His day had started off relatively decent, but had rapidly descended into nothing short of a disaster. Jianyu scowled, gritting his teeth.
Cais, he thought as he crossed the vast field and headed back towards Lunaria.
I pray we never meet again.
