Abigail exited her barracks in the late morning, when the sun was just about to its place in the sky for the afternoon. It hadn't been her intention to sleep in, but she was helpless against the large stash of alcohol stuffed into a cabinet in her kitchen. It wasn't long after she returned home the night before that she passed out on her bed from drinking. It was a long and easy sleep, though she didn't dream. It was as if Abigail had only closed her eyes for a second and yet there was light shining through a hole in her makeshift leather curtains when she opened them.

Her plan today was the same as any other day in this painfully long winter. She would attempt to train for as long as she could stand the cold. Assuming that she didn't meet a friend in the training field, she would migrate to the hall at sometime in the later afternoon. If there was no one there, which was rare, Abigail would try to find her cousin or Calla and pester them until they threw Luci and Dani in her direction. HailWing was missing for some reason or another and had been for a good week or two. Before she left, the was a nice little bulge in her tummy and even Abigail knew what that meant. HailWing was in the caves, raising her young pups until they were old enough to bond.

Abigail walked along the trail from the barracks to the training field, filled with giddy thoughts about what kind of mother Hail was and how absolutely adorable her pups would be. Now, Abigail didn't know who the father of the pups were, but she just knew that Hail had good taste and that the pups would no doubt be the jewels of her eye.

When she arrived, Abigail was a bit unsure of where to start, but she figured that it would be good to run laps first. Assuming that she didn't fall on her bottom and get her pants all dirty, then Abigail planned to work on her aim. Abigail positioned herself at the starting point of the track and was off. She didn't know where Emi was at the moment, but she hoped she was taking notes.

With a groan Alexis's hand flew onto her wind up alarm clock palm first. She yawned and quickly slid out of the bed, heading directly for her bathroom and grabbing her uniform on the way. She slid out of her sleeping gown and into her uniform, glancing out of the ajar door at her adolescent wolf sleeping at the foot of her bed. She couldn't help but let a smile take over her face; it was just so damn cute. As soon as she was done she walked back to the bed and sat next to her Male wolf and shook him lightly. 'Wake up, Ammy. She said delicately, staring at him intently as his eyes slowly opened.Play? He said hopefully, though you could tell he was still half asleep. She smiled at him lovingly, 'No, doll. Time to go train. Maybe you can run around though.' She said as to not crush his hopes.

He let out a small, high-pitched, yawn and hopped off of the bed. 'Ready?' She asked only getting a small nod in return. She smiled and walked out of small barracks, AmethystWind following at her heels. She walked quickly away, shutting the door behind her, and walking to the training field. Much to her surprise, and slightly dismay, someone was already there. She looked slightly familiar, but it was clear they'd never actually talked. Alexis knew that she was a higher rank than herself, though, but she wasn't sure how much higher. She decided it best to simply take a seat and watch her training regiment, perhaps she'd get something out of it to add to her own. She made her way to the driest seat she could find and sat down, watching the woman intently. Amethyst decided to take off, running around at his own pace and attacking the snow to his hearts content.

Abigail didn't notice at first the young woman that sat watching her nearby. Absorbed in her own little world, which at this moment consisted of her thoughts about wolf pups running rampant around a cave in the winter, Abigail was completely oblivious to anything but the jogging track in front of her. She was already getting winded and it worried her. At the beginning of winter every year, Abigail seemed to think that she could take a break from her rigorous training for a month or two. So, she gained weight throughout the beginning and near the end, she was frantic trying to get rid of it. One would think that after several years of this same routine, she would get wise and continue training despite the lack of necessity.

It wasn't until she turned the corner of the jogging track which stretched around the training field, completing her first lap, that she noticed the girl sitting down in a spot on the ground where the snow was most vacant. Abigail didn't need any more of an excuse to stop what she was doing. Only one lap and her side was beginning to hurt. Abigail slowed to a halt and walked very slowly toward the young woman with the dirty blonde hair.

On her way, Abigail waved and when she was just a few feet away, she jogged the last of the way. Abigail put her right hand up and with a smile, said, "Howdy!"

Emi rubbed her hands together, hoping to get the blood flowing through them again. How long had she been up? All she knew was that she had gotten up earlier, unable to sleep for some reason, so she grabbed her rifle and she and FlameFrost, her lovable wolf partner, were out the door. Rifle practice may not have been the best thing to do to keep her body warm, but it was one of the things that she was lacking in. Fighting wise, the female was a hand to hand combat fighter. She actually had to practice to keep her shooting skill intact.

You want me to help you go over all the things we learned before winter? Cause I mean really, your patron decided it would be better to take a break and not train with us. Lucky we had Hailwing, but even she isn't around now, the blood red wolf commented as he ran short laps around the area Emi was confined to. By the way, why do think Hailwing isn't around? I mean, we'll become Private and Gamma soon so why leave now?

The apprentice made a sound that was half a snort and half a laugh. She wondered why her wolf friend could be so dense. She had noticed it before. She size of the blue wolf's stomach, which made it quite clear what was going on. She really wanted to see them, but that would have to wait till them were actually able to leave the caves. Stop your yapping and help me review while I shoot. I don't want to become a Private with some gaps in my list of important things. Emi had long since surrendered herself to the fact that Flame did have the better memory of the two of them. So the two started their review, the sounds of bullets being let loose, ringing through the air.

The frosted wolf let his tongue roll out in what was probably a grin. His human really wanted to do well. After all, she had made some stupid mistakes in the past. Though he had to hand it to Abigail, she could be careless and seemingly a bad Patron, but in all truth, she was there when Emi made a fool of herself, broke down and cried and simply taught the girl what she needed to know. But even though couldn't keep him from snorting a laugh at the sight of the out of breath blond who was obviously trying to burn some of the gained fat.
